We’re looking for a Linux System Engineer who will enable us to build industry disruptive tech products and revolutionise the way our customers use technology.

You want to

• Install new systems (bare metal and virtual machines), rebuild existing systems and configure hardware with a focus on infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation
• Develop and maintain configuration management tools
• Contribute to and maintain system standards
• Work closely with Software Engineers to develop CI/CD pipelines
• Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks
• Manage security on the systems platform
• Perform and ensure daily automated backup operations are carried out
• Apply operating system patches and upgrades on a regular basis

You have

• BS Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience
• 2-3 years of Linux System Administration skillset
• Configuration management experience (Cfengine, Puppet, Ansible, etc)
• Big data and supporting systems experience (Cassandra, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Flink, RabbitMQ)
• Container and Container Orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience running hybrid environment of on-premises and cloud services

The Role: Application Design Engineer

What will you do?

• Design and develop SCADA systems using various software suites, including System Platform, AVEVA (Wonderware) Historian, OSI PI, Geo SCADA, Ignition SCADA, etc.
• Configure and program SCADA software to monitor and control various industrial processes, such as manufacturing, energy, mining, and utilities.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and develop solutions that align with their needs.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA software and related components such as PLCs, ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure.
• Integrate SCADA systems with historians (e.g., OSI PI, Wonderware, AVEVA) for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting purposes.
• Develop custom scripts using scripting languages (e.g., .NET, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.) to enhance system functionality and performance.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure the accurate functioning of SCADA systems, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise.
• Perform system upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry best practices and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshooting system issues, and offering timely resolutions.
• Participate in training to stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in SCADA technologies.

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering or Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and integration with different data sources
• Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware
• Experience with AVEVA (formerly Wonderware) software products including System Platform, Operations Control, InTouch, and Predictive Analytics
• Experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, Visual Basic, or C#.
• Familiar with operational data historians (e.g. AVEVA, Wonderware, OSI PI etc.)
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting industry standard communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA/DA, DNP3, and TCP/IP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

The job holder is responsible for achieving software design and development tasks for new products and product upgrades, in line with related compliance requirements and the company's quality management standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders to gather and analyze software requirements in detail.
• Identify and discuss change requests, timelines, implementation, and testing plans with stakeholders.
• Understand and contribute to technical solutions from design through coding.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Proficient in WPF and C#.
• Experience with databases and the entity framework.
• Experience in participating in the release of software solutions.
• Familiarity with Scrum methodology and continuous integration.
• Proficient in using Git for version control.
• Preferably experienced with Linux or mobile operating systems.

For Senior Engineer: 3 years of experience using WPF and C# to deliver at least one product.

For Engineer: More than 2 years of working experience.
