The Programme Executive or Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programmes and services for the Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deafblind community. This includes both indoor and outdoor events. The ideal candidate will need have a passion for working with the Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deafblind community.
1. Programme related duties:
1.1 To plan, develop and implement programmes including indoor and outdoor events.
1.2 To liaise and work with community partners (which may be individuals or companies) for programmes and events.
1.4 To draft and propose media publicity content for programmes and events
1.5 To be present for programmes and manage registration and attendance
1.6 To keep track of the overall expenditure of the programmes
1.7 To evaluate programmes in a timely manner, as well as to track programme outcomes
1.8 To manage feedback, data and reporting of programmes to the HOD
2. Outreach and Public Education:
2.1 To provide support in all events organised by Community Services or SADeaf.
2.2 To work closely with other departments in SADeaf to reach out to community stakeholders
2.3 To develop and deliver training materials and basic information on Deaf culture for people working with the Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deafblind
2.4 To conduct outreach to the Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deafblind community
3. Befriending and Support Services:
3.1 To develop and implement befriending and support services
3.2 To collaborate and work closely with counterparts and stakeholders.
3.3 To conduct home visits and sessions for clients referred for befriending or support
3.5 To manage the data and reporting of Befriending Services of Community Services department
4. Volunteer Management/Coordination:
4.1 To manage and work with various volunteer groups in planning and organising programmes and events
4.2 To recruit and manage deployment of volunteers
4.3 To plan for volunteer training, development, and appreciation
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant working experience in the social service sector. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply.
- Preferably candidate with Diploma in community and social services (or any other equivalent or higher certification)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience and background in working or volunteering with the Deaf community is an advantage
- Possess strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
- Tech-savvy, innovative, and meticulous; must be comfortable and proficient in working with digital tools (Microsoft office suite and Google Drive products).
- Able and willing to work on weekends, weeknights, holidays, and outside office hours, if needed.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Singapore Sign Language (SgSL).
