A Senior Client Manager is a quota-bearing sales persona and the primary purpose of the role is to take full ownership of named client accounts, retain these clients and find new business in FSI Vertical. The Client Manager is assigned a range of development and maintenance accounts and held accountable for the performance achievement of those accounts in terms of revenue retention, profitability management, and growth.

Job Description:

This is a full time role for an Assistant Operations Manager located in Geylang Bahru. Our client is one of Singapore's Leading Specialists for Buddhist funeral services and you will be responsible for managing funeral transfers and services, preparing monthly schedules for ground staff, and handling petty cash and vehicle-related matters. They work closely with all departments, oversee the Customer Service Team by assisting with phone duties and managing funeral parlours, and ensure the Operations Team adheres to company policies and processes. Additionally, they assist the Human Resources Team with talent recruitment and perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-4 years of management experience
• Comfortable working in the funeral industry
• Possess class 3 driver license
• Able to do shift work, and work on Public Holidays and Overtime

Job Description:

• Responsible for executing all cargo operations on board and marine tasks, including but not limited that related to lifesaving equipment, in a safe, efficient and effective manner, as per the Marine Superintendent or Cargo Supervisor instructions, in compliance with MODEC procedures, national and international regulations and standards, liaising with client, authorities and Onshore departments, thus ensuring the unit's availability, safe operation and proper certification, contributing to the business continuity and its growth.
• Advise and participate in the execution of in all marine related activities, including but not limited to offloading, supply boat operations, cargo handling, cargo and ballasting operations, crude oil washing, tank cleaning, and all associated maintenance of cargo and ballast equipment, in order to ensure their safety and compliance with internal and external procedures and regulations, all those following the hierarchy on board in support to the Cargo Supervisor and to the Marine Superintendent. Likewise, it is co-responsible for ensuring the readiness and availability of the offshore installation's Lifesaving Appliances.
• Contribute to the unit's annual budget planning (expenses and investments), by participating of the corporate planning, providing information about resources, replacements, services and materials needs and other expenses used in its activities, liaising with the Marine team to ensure accurate information.
• Contribute to an effective response to emergencies on board by being part of the Emergency Response Team, participating in all trainings, simulations and acting properly in a real situation, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations and best practices, in order to minimize impacts to people, the environment, assets and the company's reputation.
• Contribute to the MODEC’s Permit to Work management systems' implementation, by acting as originator of PTWs and Perform Authority for Marine works, ensuring the correct isolation of equipment and machinery, assisting on enclosed space entry, conducting toolbox talks, guaranteeing all Marine employees and vendors working on Marine activities are properly trained and certified, in accordance with MODEC procedures, and attending, when requested, internal or external audits.
• Act proactively to safeguarding MODEC from noncompliance to legal/regulatory requirements by ensuring MODEC's procedures, management system, internal and external regulations, national and international standards are followed by both marine core crew and 3rd parties on board, participating in audits and inspections in the unit, developing and ensuring the implementation of action plans when required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of MdB fleet performance by participating or leading, when required, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up and acting upon CAPAs, sharing lessons learned and promoting a culture of continuous seek for performance and integrity enhancement opportunities.
• Guarantee the proper use of Technical Support departments, by ensuring that technical queries are properly identified, recorded in the system and always directed to Onshore departments for review/study, promoting a culture adherent to the company's systems.
• Contribute to enhance MODEC's procedures, by constantly evaluating the department activities and seeking improvement opportunities, sharing lessons learned with Technical Support departments and Operations leadership, participating in procedures' review, following MODEC's Philosophy, manufacturer recommendation, and personnel experience.
• Contribute to the proper planning of offshore activities by supporting Planner Offshore and Marine Supt in the prioritization and scheduling of services to be performed onboard, participating in discussions along with other Offshore leaderships, when requested, and duly approving all WOs for production works on the CMMS.
• Ensure the proper communication regarding the department activities developed onboard, by filling up, on daily basis, the OIM Daily Report.
• Manage stocks of spare parts, consumables, tools, Marine Gas Oil (MGO Bunker according to the agreement with Client), lubricating oils and chemicals related to Marine Department by requesting the necessary materials for the department's activities in a timely and optimized way. Assist the Cargo Supervisor on conduction of anticipated inspection of the MGO and potable water bunkering hoses, reporting in advance its condition whether it is approved for use or whether it must be removed from service.
• Communicate to the Cargo Supervisor all marine or safety systems' potential and actual incidents or defects, taking positive actions to stop hazards and unsafe behaviors, request technical advice as necessary and prepare, follow up and close out any necessary vendor assistance on board for the Marine department, in liaison with relevant leaderships.
• Contribute so that the vessel always holds valid Flag, Class and Port State certification by participating audits and inspections, supporting the Marine Superintendent and Cargo Supervisor in preparing the marine department and assisting to close out all non-conformities and observations.
• Ensure that unplanned discharges are identified, stopped as soon as possible, and reported following policy, procedures and regulations. In addition, deal with equipment, waste or other materials for disposal in accordance with procedures in place. This also includes the correct conduct of cargo venting, which should be carried out under favorable conditions, aiming to avoid plant trip, according to MdB's procedure.
• Contribute in the housekeeping of entire main deck, around accommodation decks, lay down areas and stores, controlling waste management by hosing down on regular basis and proper garbage collection, segregation and disposal.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Degree is required.
• Superior education is mandatory (EFOMM, or specialization course for merchant marine officers’ access degree), except for foreign Seafarers (which follow the regulations of the country of origin).
• Additional advanced training for chemical tanker or gas carrier, and additional experience on those type of tanker, and also the capacity as Chief Officer rank are competitive edge, however, not mandatory for the position.
• Minimum 1 year' experience as officer on watch (OOW) working on board the appropriate type of oil tanker, or chemical tanker or gas carrier /LPGLNG/VLCC/F(P)SOs is required.
