Job Description: Job Description: The Group Audit CRO team are responsible for global coverage of the CRO function. The current team is comprised of about 50 FTEs based in 8 locations (London, Frankfurt, New York, Singapore, Berlin, Bonn, Madrid, Cary) with Principal Audit Managers based in 6 of these. The above includes the APAC Risk team which is comprised of 4 team members based in Singapore and a Principal Audit Manager who reports directly into the CRO Chief Auditor for Non-Financial Risk based in Cary. Although much of the focus of this team is on coverage of all risk types (i.e. CRM, MRM, NFRM and ERM) in the APAC region, it also plays a significant support role in the coverage of global Risk processes and works closely with the regional APAC audit teams to provide 'front-to-back' assurance of key businesses in the APAC region and to act in an advisory capacity for CRO related matters. This Principal Audit Manager role which is being hired will be responsible for the planning, staffing, risk assessment and delivery of audits covering the CRO function. The role will also involve: Owning and driving the audit process, identifying and escalating audit issues and quality controlling audits and subsequent reporting. Reviewing all audit issues and recommending audit grades and issuing ratings for final approval. Serving as a subject matter expert with regard to the areas of business coverage, developing further relevant technical expertise and contributing to enhancements of the audit approach. Working with divisional leadership to provide 'front-to-back'/ SME audit coverage and 'joined-up' assurance. Acting as a primary relationship manager for senior CRO management stakeholders and representing the division at committees and forums both internally and externally. Communicating the Banks/divisional strategy, plans and values within their teams and ensuring understanding and alignment. Presenting complex and sensitive messages (such as audit issues) comprehensively, professionally and reducing complex topics to simple statements. Roles & Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of audits (including the global audit plan and business monitoring process). Contributing to functional planning of the audit plan related to own area of responsibility, adjusting the plan and advising any changes to the Chief Auditor. Delivering and sustaining own and team performance against key objectives in the context of functional strategies. Providing input to the risk assessments, audit plan and approaches. Approving audit work papers and ensuring that they meet the Audit methodology and quality standards. Determining team involvement and individual responsibilities for each audit. Reviewing and providing expert opinions on action plans provided by clients, helping them develop robust remediation plans. Approving the closure of Significant and Important audit issues in line with GA methodology. Responsible for ensuring that testing conducted to assess design and operating effectiveness of controls at the time of issue closure validation is comprehensive and adequately documented. Partnering with relevant Regional Heads on a timely and effective basis regarding matters affecting their region. Communicating the Banks/divisional strategy, plans and values within their teams and ensuring understanding and alignment. Conducting exit meetings for all FTE staff members that leave the team (internal GA transfers, internal bank transfers and bank leavers) - Key points raised during the exit meeting are documented and shared with relevant Chief Auditor. Keeping abreast of pertinent industry, regulatory and business practices. Establishing and maintaining a client service/relationship approach with CRO stakeholders in order to understand their business needs. Managing a team of auditors and being actively engaged in managing other talent and resources (e.g. external support staff) including recruiting, training, career development and succession planning. Creating and reinforcing an environment where people management and development is a key priority and personally demonstrates their commitment to their immediate and the wider function. Managing direct reports, through empowering them to deliver on their objectives, providing coaching and support to enable them to be successful. Cascades SMART business driven objectives at the beginning of the year and ensures every team member receives continuous performance feedback and has regular constructive performance reviews. Acting as a management role model for their own team and others. Skills and Experiences The candidate must have: Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services or 'big 4' accounting firm, including in an audit delivery role. This should include an advanced understanding of internal auditing standards and concepts, risk and control concepts and the three lines of defence model. Proven knowledge and experience of the activities of the Chief Risk function of a global investment bank, including an understanding of the associated risks and regulatory requirements. Proven knowledge and experience of banking activities, including capital market products and relevant regulatory requirements. Outstanding operational and people management skills; must possess the ability to operate a diverse team, appraise individual potential, motivate teams. Strong communication skills, communicating with clarity, both orally and in writing, in a logical order and structured approach. Fluent in English (written and verbal). Strong relationship management, analytical, problem solving, communication, influencing, planning and presentation skills. The ability to challenge and be challenged whilst maintaining the highest levels of professionalism. Experience in building and managing effective teams and relationships. Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment. Able to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organisation, transfer knowledge and develop capability of team members. Masters/bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
