Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

The job is for a Programme Director (PD) to lead an ERI@N Interdisciplinary Research Programme focusing on Artificial Intelligence applied to Energy Applications. This program will enable AI and digitalization across the energy domain and the selected Programme Director will have to work with and support other ERI@N Programme Directors and lead the increased deployment of AI applications across the energy domain. Key Responsibilities:

To assist the Executive Director, in Scientific and Technical matters relating to their individual areas of expertise, the Programme Director will support and / or lead the following activities:

• Identify strategic R&D focus and lead technical roadmap development and technology assessments for various energy domains.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s / PhD degree in Engineering or Sciences or a related field
• At least 10 years with a strong research track record in fields of relevance to ERI@N (Artificial Intelligence as applied to power grids, renewables & integration, solar cells, hydrogen & fuel cells, energy storage, energy systems or other energy related applications) would be essential.
• Familiarity with both academic and industrial research as well as the funding landscape enabling these research programmes is required.
