The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a full-time Lead Faculty Fellow for SMU's student accommodation, Prinsep Street Residences (PSR). The Fellow will also concurrently be appointed as a faculty member of the College of Integrative Studies and may hold either a tenure track or term-track appointment, commensurate with his or her qualifications.

The Lead Faculty Fellowship is a renewable 4-year administrative appointment. Tasked to cultivate a vibrant intellectual and residential life at PSR, the LFF should be a people-oriented faculty administrator experienced in operating in a dynamic environment and should possess strong leadership and people skills, aptitude for mentoring, and significant experience in similar roles demanding a high level of service and organisational responsibility.

Job Opportunity: Laundry Sorting & Packing Operator/Team Lead

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Sort and pack garments efficiently and accurately.
• Review and report daily orders for delivery.
• Assign delivery bags/items to appropriate delivery racks/storage.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties in the assigned area.
• Assist with other ad hoc duties as required.
• Supervise team members in the sorting and packing section (Shift Team Leader role).
• Quality Control and Garments Assessment (May be assigned)

Requirements:

• Basic computer and mobile app operation skills (system training provided).
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, and communication).
• Physically capable of handling loads of at least 15kg.
• No prior experience required.

Working Hours:

• Regular Schedule: Monday – Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM.
• Alternate Saturdays: 5.5-day workweek.

Salary:

• $2,200 – $2,800/month, based on experience and role.

Additional Information:

• Positions open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
• Candidates may be considered for other roles or higher positions (e.g., Team Lead) based on qualifications and experience.

• Engage in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Design, Development, Integration, Testing, Deployment, Maintenance, and Customer Support for intricate systems.
• Maintain high quality and delivery standards, consistently delivering quality code within deadlines.
• Act as the primary point of contact and on-site support for software-related issues
• Implement best engineering practices such as code reviews, secure programming, unit testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Embrace an "Automation first" mindset, aiming to minimize manual tasks, particularly in code analysis, testing, and deployment.
• Utilize suitable software development methodologies, languages, libraries, and techniques to optimize software engineering tasks.
• Demonstrate autonomy by proposing viable technical solutions through thorough research and deep understanding of the codebase.
• Estimate costs and delivery schedules for development efforts, ensuring accuracy and validation.
• Continuously enhance understanding of new technologies, programming languages, frameworks, and technical concepts relevant to the company's product portfolios.
• Proactively research industry trends and best practices, implementing them where applicable.

Skills and experience required

As a successful applicant, you will have at least 7 years of experience in Java. Exposure to Python programming for developing large-scale real-time, event-driven applications.

Exposure to NodeJS, JavaScript, AWS cloud and designing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins will be of added advantage.
