Our client a well-known insurance business is hiring for a VP Risk & Regulatory Compliance for a 12-month contract.

Team Management:

• Effectively manage the Regulatory Compliance team by providing guidance, support, and leadership to the team members.
• Develop and communicate the delivery plans aligned to the department’s strategy/work plan.
• Ensure that the team meets all business goals and performance objectives set by Management and/or Group Legal, Compliance & Company Secretariat.
• Evaluate and manage the overall performance and morale of direct reports to ensure consistent high efficiency and competency.

Risk Management:

• Work closely with Risk staff designated to maintain the IAF framework.
• Ensure alignment of process/policies with Group Risk Standards.

Operational Risk:

• Conduct appropriate testing for the key controls under the MCA framework.
• Ensure Tier 1, 2 Risks etc are adequately managed within the defined parameters of IAF framework

Regulatory:

• Assist HOD in maintaining the role as 2 Line of Defence.
• Conduct training and coaching to line departments, where applicable
• Perform Functional Area Regulatory Obligatory Mapping (FAROM) on regulatory changes/MAS CPs, etc., that may impact the Company and address the gaps noted from the gap analysis.

Regulatory Advisory & Compliance:

• Providing regulatory advisory to Management/other Business Units/Agencies/Financial Adviser Representatives on queries, new initiatives etc.
• Review marketing materials from a regulatory perspective.
• Conduct of Annual Branch/Social Media Website audit.
• Review/assess various agreements/or schemes, e.g. Distribution Agreements, Introducer Agreements, campaigns etc from a regulatory perspective.
• Assess/provide inputs from a compliance standpoint on Providers Due Diligence conducted on annual basis.

Requirements:

• At least 5-8 years of experience in regulatory compliance space
• Well Versed in MAS rules and regulations.
