We are seeking a skilled Backup and Storage Engineer with hands-on experience in Veeam Backup, Veritas Backup, and storage management. The candidate will play a crucial role in managing the organization’s backup infrastructure and storage environments, ensuring data availability, security, and optimal performance across multiple sites. The role requires flexibility for occasional weekend and after-hours support, as well as travel between various locations.

Key Responsibilities

Backup Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage backup and recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication and Veritas Backup Exec/NetBackup.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot backup systems, ensuring they are running efficiently and that data is protected.
• Conduct routine and ad-hoc backups, verifying data integrity and meeting compliance requirements.
• Test and document disaster recovery plans, ensuring systems can be restored rapidly in case of failures or disasters.
• Perform system upgrades and patching for backup solutions, ensuring compatibility with the overall infrastructure.

Storage Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS) across multiple environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor storage utilization and capacity, optimizing storage allocation and planning for future growth.
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance.
• Implement storage provisioning for various platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, VMware), ensuring efficient data access.
• Ensure storage security by managing encryption, access control, and data integrity protocols.
• Document storage configurations and procedures, ensuring the technical documentation is up to date.

General Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and backup systems with the wider IT infrastructure.
• Perform regular maintenance and upgrades of backup and storage environments, following best practices to minimize downtime.
• Provide support outside of regular business hours (including weekends) for emergency troubleshooting, planned maintenance, and disaster recovery operations.
• Travel to multiple sites for on-site support, installations, and storage/backup-related troubleshooting.

You Bring:

• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and Veritas Backup Exec/NetBackup solutions.
• Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their interaction with storage systems.
• Proficiency in storage management tools and practices, including RAID configuration, storage tiering, and volume management.
• Familiarity with data replication, data migration, and disaster recovery techniques.
• Knowledge of storage security measures, including encryption, access control, and secure data disposal.
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for managing backup and storage tasks are a plus.
• Flexibility to work on multiple sites and handle after-hours support, including weekends.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle critical incidents under pressure.
• Strong documentation and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Veeam, Veritas, or storage technologies (e.g., NetApp, EMC, HPE).
• Experience with cloud-based storage and backup solutions.
• Familiarity with data retention, archiving, and compliance standards.

Key Job Accountabilities:

1. Process / Product Type

• In-charge of at least two repair processes and two product type
• Troubleshoot process issues
• Resolve daily production issues
• Technical Queries to OEM or Customer
• Assist in process investigation
• Writing worksheets for piece job pertaining to assigned process
• Generate process and qualify parameters
• Process improvements
• Cost Savings
• Basic trending for process parameters
• In charge of product type and rotate
• Link up with Authorities on matters pertaining to processes

2. Cap Setup

• To do First Article on new ESM repair procedures, SBs
• To do Capability Setup on new equipment or processes
• Design and RFQ for new fixtures/Jigs
• Carry out Tooling Review and Control
• Do submission for capability declaration

3. Documentation

• Publication Review (ESM, SB, ADs, TR, IC,) including process specification (AMS, ASTM, BS)
• Worksheet amendments
• In-house specifications amendments
• Publication Review (ESM, SB, ADs, TR, IC,)
• Review Manual updates
• Prepare FMM for machine
• Prepare Aviation HIRA for processes

4. Operation Support

• Provide Tech support to Operation
• Raise TVR, CDR for engine repair
• Raise TM, EB, EN,
• Attend, resolve and smoothened operations flow
• Review, investigate and provide solutions to Open Reporting issues raised by operation.

5. Investigation

• Assist in Investigation of engine component issues
• Carry out root cause analysis, provide recommendations for corrective and preventive
measures
• Follow up on investigation details and ensure no re-occurrence

6. Troubleshooting

• Resolve repair processes issues

7. Training

• Carry out training on repair processes and associated Standard practices

• Carry out training for first article processes

Salary:

• Up to $7000 + VB

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
• Have undergone at least 2 – 3 years of the on-the-job training
• 5 years working experience in Propulsion Engines and Components MRO Environment
• Strong Fundamentals in Engineering Drawing interpretations
• Understanding of Repair Processes is an added advantage
• Regulatory NDT requirements
