Position Summary:

The SAP Basis Engineer is responsible for the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the SAP landscape in support of SAP rollout projects. This role ensures the smooth operation of SAP systems and supports the implementation of new SAP environments across various business units. The SAP Basis Engineer will work closely with SAP functional and technical teams, as well as project stakeholders, to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP System Installation and Configuration:
  • Install and configure SAP systems, including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, SRM, SCM, and others.
  • Perform system copies, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Configure and manage SAP landscape sub-systems.
• SAP System Migration:
  • Plan and execute SAP system migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with database administrators and infrastructure teams to migrate SAP systems to new hardware or cloud environments.
  • Conduct pre- and post-migration testing to validate system functionality and performance.
• System Administration and Maintenance:
  • Monitor SAP system performance and perform tuning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage SAP system backups, restores, and disaster recovery.
  • Apply patches, updates, and enhancement packages to SAP systems.
• Security and Authorization:
  • Manage SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary changes.
• Project Management Assistant:
  • Participate in SAP rollout projects, ensuring systems are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical support during project phases such as design, development, testing, and go-live.
• Documentation and reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of SAP system configurations, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on system performance, issues, and project status.
• Technical expertise and guidance:
  • Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members and end-users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP technical issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an SAP Basis Engineer or similar role.
  • Proven experience in SAP rollout projects, including system installation and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, database management, and system performance tuning.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SAP Basis administration and management.
  • Experience with SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, and other databases.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager.

We are looking for a Project Site Engineer to oversee daily project operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, regulatory requirements (SFA, FDA), and industry standards. There will be construction and installation activities at the project site, ensuring smooth and compliant operations from start to finish. The ideal candidate will manage the coordination, progress monitoring, and technical oversight of the project, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.

• Report to the Head of Department at basis level and to the Lead Electrical Engineer at project level.
• Implement Company work processes, procedures and quality policies as required by project.
• Review Company contractual requirements, scope boundaries and support the Lead Engineer with the Management of change on assigned areas.
• Manage interfaces with equipment and package suppliers to comply with technical requirements, specifications and Client’s Basis of Design, Standards & Project Specifications.
• Ensure that that all risks related to his/her area or responsibility are identified, assessed and preventive measures are implemented in a timely manner when required.
• Support the Lead Engineer on verification activities as required by the verification body / classification society or other applicable approving authorities.
• Represent the Electrical Engineering discipline during meetings, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews and be responsible for an effective and timely resolution of identified issues.
• Provide technical support related to Electrical activities at the fabrication site, whenever required.
• Ensure the technical integrity of all Electrical Engineering activities and deliverables for work performed through project lifecycle phases and for compliance to project specific performance, integrity, quality and HSE requirements.
• Continuously seek to improve working methods, tools and procedures and contribute actively to the Electrical Engineering Discipline development and experience transfer.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work experience requirements:

• Must have a minimum 8 years of work experience in medium/large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
• Experience in electrical power system design and handling of power system studies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Other skills:

• A good understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards including but not limited to IEC, NORSOK, DNV and other relevant standards related to Electrical Design and Engineering.

• Input and Follow up of vendor documentation.
• Participate during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)/Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
• Perform electrical calculations like cable sizing, lighting and heat tracing using relevant software’s.
• Client liaison regarding technical clarifications and queries.
• Co-ordinate electrical design within own discipline and on a multidiscipline level.
• Administration of tags in EIS (set up, define control objects, link to activity, data input etc.).
• Cable administration in relevant database like cabsys, AVEVA.
• Familiarity with Equinor systems (STID, STID TAG, procosys, Stidele, cable routing, SAP) will be a distinct advantage.
• Produce new and revise existing documentation and drawings in accordance with project document schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline (essential)
• Higher degree qualifications are desirable.
• Demonstrated engineering competencies required for qualification to INCOSE CSEP (or equivalent, or ASEP) are highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
