The Global Lead for supplier quality is responsible for the effective management and control of our supply base in order to ensure we are receiving quality parts that meet our specifications and are on time. This leader will minimize our cost variance due to supplier poor quality by developing and standardizing our supplier management systems, detailing the quality requirements for supplier approval, standardizing and enabling the dormakaba part approval process (dkPAP), and ensuring cross-functional collaboration and communication pathways between workstreams.

Key tasks :

• Establish and lead global supplier quality systems across global plant and procurement operations.
• Reduce cost variance due to supplier poor quality by effectively developing and deploying suppliers, standardizing incoming quality processes for purchased parts, increased accountability to supply base for poor quality performance and effective implementation of chargeback policies and procedures ensuring 100% recovery from costs incurred due to poor supplier quality.
• Lead and develop a high-performing and diverse team of global supplier quality engineers, enhancing the organization quality culture through coacking and technical engagement, enruing the timely information flow to assigned team members, stakeholders and suppliers for the asigned team.
• Global implementation and standardization of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), accounting for categorical and change nature risks. Driving improvement of supplier first pass yield dkPAP, approval time, and safe launch success in the case of NPI.
• Support the monitoring, reporting and improvement of key supplier KPIs. understand root cause(s) of changes in metrics, identify trends and associated action plans. developing and nurturing a long-term collaborative culture with strategic supply base.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Installation and commissioning of machining centres or EDM machines with complexity at customer site.
• Conduct pre-installation assistance to customer as well as post installation visit and check up.
• Provide field service support and troubleshooting to the machines for local & overseas customers
• Responds to customer complaints and Perform scheduled and un-scheduled service support.
• Diligent attention to details and ability in analyzing the critical issues (Electrical & Mechanical).
• Prepare complete service reports and details on daily service job and customer correspondence
• Educate customers on basic maintenance & technical support of machine tool for customer's benefits
• Properly document, label, and return all defective parts resulting from service and repair
• Ensure all tools & equipments used are calibrated in good working order to Makino Standards.
• Ensure all tools and equipment provided is kept safe, and secure.
• Update service reports on all activities carried out on site into the system and ensure to complete all required documentation including the expense report, in a timely manner
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times. Develop and maintain safe habits and practices with regard to safety requirements on site.
• Provide technical support to other Field Service engineers in the field.
• Develop and maintain relationship with customers
• Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace.

Job Requirements

• Good in MS Office and general computer knowledge
• Minimum ITE / Diploma in related technical field
• At least 2 years experience in installation & service of CNC machines.
• Strong electrical trouble shooting experience is an added advantage
• Passion on Field Service
• Ability to travel to clients on standby weekends / night
• Able to travel from time to time for project & regional support

• Understand customer requirement and decide on the specification
• Prepare specification and testing method documents
• Prepare software (PLC - Ladder, C/C++, VB etc..)
• Test software on simulator / actual machine
• Prepare operator / maintenance manuals
• Release software and related document for distribution / record purposes
• Develop new functions to improve productivity and give good features to have added advantage over the competitor products
• Involve in the design of HMI / Servo turning / PLC programming / Parameterization / Commissioning

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Diploma/ Degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics or equivalent
• Have at least 3 years of experience working in Machine Tool Software Design
• Working experience on SiEMENS SINUMERIK CNC controller with HMI / Servo turning / PLC programming / Parameterization / Commissioning is a must.
• Strong interest in product for the production-environment as key-enabler for many innovative products.
• Creativity for innovative solutions as well as strong analytical skills for problem-solving and can do hands-on works (testing)
• Able to take responsibility and ownership.
• Willing to travel to customer site for technical discussion / project implementation when required.
• Good and effective communication skills.
