This role is responsible for technical specification and definition of industrial systems, products and solutions including system and product design, technical sourcing of such systems / products and digitization applications. This role defines regional product and system portfolios and create ways to fulfill such portfolio through local capability, partners and Envac AB HO & cross regional technical collaboration. This role actively interacts with commercial functions and customers to know the market trends and customer needs in order to fulfill such needs in a timely manner. This role protects ad define market position of Envac’s various product portfolio with strategic pricing schemes and drives the commercial team to achieve profitable growth with co-responsibility for profitability. The candidate will be reporting to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Products / Systems
Manage product life cycles including new products and accessory configuration update. Create and maintain solution and product catalogue to support commercialization. Actively support new project proposals when new offers are needed for pre-sale and bidding requirements. Focus on Product and system Application Development for Southeast Asia and China. This is to broaden and differentiate Envac offers.
- The above scope includes technical understanding and application of engineering solutions, a variety of industrial equipment / components going into the solutions, system automation know-hows, and digitization trends. At the same time, finding local alternatives to address cost and delivery needs.
- Co-operate with Partners in each market for New Product Application development. Technically source from qualified partners. Manage confidentiality, IP and Business cases.
- Handle Product & Technical Complaints and provide On-site Services to support project teams if needed.
- Set up database with product catalogue to track in Projects – what new products used in what projects, lessons learned, recommendation for future projects, wish list for new products.
- Carry out market research in each country with insightful intelligence, analyse, and formulate into product market competition strategies to integrate into product development plan.
Design – (Have team with 3 designer)
- Standardize design fundamentals, identify gaps to improve.
- Lead and Work with design team in each office to proactively design into opportunities and ensure design accuracy with local needs.
- Establish proactive Relationship with Influential Project Consultants and design houses for Technical Spec-in. Track such leads as a KPI to drive for pipelines with business leaders.
Commercial / Cross functional Co-responsibilities
- Define choices of products / solutions for commercial team to choose from to meet market demand.
- Define product plan for each year by working with cross functional team.
- Collect customer demands with and through commercial team to solution specifications to enable new product development. Provide timely technical Supports to commercial team to remove product barriers.
- Implement strategic pricing practices while collaborating with Sales and management to strive for balanced decision.
- Carry out Regular On-site Examinations for Key Projects to validate new product functionality and existing product and system function issues (feedback from team) and provide improvements.
- Work with market communication team and R&D to design Product promotion scheme, provide training for sales, distributors and customers. Participate in and work with the marketing in various academic conferences, exhibitions and other marketing activities.
- Align with Global product strategy and information sharing representing the region. Make and update sales tools related to products. Be the regional owner to link global initiatives for product introduction and launching champion with support from market communication.
Sales Support
-To attend technical review with sales team
-To attend technical meetings with clients
Project Support – HDB (Before Main Contractor)
-To attend coordination meetings with architects, M&E and structural consultants
-To coordinate and determine the level of pipe sleeve crossing under major roads
-To coordinate the level of pipe sleeve with major services such as sewer, power cables, etc
-To determine the position and depth of launching pits that will aid the installation under major roads
-To study and highlight authority requirements during the meeting.
-To reply to HDB review form
-To reply to NEA BP, DC, WD Advise
-To produce preliminary drawings to aid the tender process for main contractor
-To prepare drawings for PWCS QP endorsement
-To prepare drawings for Acoustic Consultant’s specifications
-To prepare drawings for MV provisions to be designed by MV consultant
Project Support – HDB (With Main Contractor)
-To attend technical meetings with main contractors
-To coordinate pipe clashes with M&E and structural services
Design Support
-To generate fabrication drawings for non-standard equipment
-To monitor project design submission schedule
-To allocate work assignments to other designers
-To check designs, shop drawings done by other designers
-To hold trainings to designers
