Hosted by CNRS@CREATE, the program ‘Carbon Negative production of advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuels using twin synthetic bacterial consortia Project’ (CNegSAF) is an international collaboration between world leading institutions in France and Singapore including CNRS, Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI), National University of Singapore, A*Star (SIFBI), and Nanyang Technological University. CNegSAF aims to demonstrate the feasibility of using a synthetic bacterial consortium to convert green hydrogen and concentrated waste CO2 (released by chemicals companies) into sustainable aviation biofuels. This innovative research program has the potential to significantly contribute to Singapore’s and the world net-zero emissions target while supplying sustainable aviation fuels to the aviation industry.

DESCRIPTION

To join this team, we are looking for a candidate who will be in charge of enzyme engineering activities using state-of-the-art evolutionary engineering and computational enzyme design techniques. The candidate will be involved in the development of screening protocols, construction and screening of enzyme libraries, designed by in silico molecular modelling. These enzymes will be further used for the creation of novel metabolic pathways for terpenoid production in engineered bacterial strains.
The perspective researcher will work in a multidisciplinary environment with access to high-throughput screening equipments (both in Singapore and Toulouse, France) and have frequent and strong interactions with other scientists involved in metabolic engineering, pathway engineering and computational enzyme design.

Malaria continues to be a leading cause of morbidity and mortality associated with an infectious disease, accounting for 249 million malaria cases and 608,000 deaths in 2022 alone. The lab is interested in the understanding of the mechanisms of drug resistance associated with antimicrobials, including antimalarial drugs. The job entails deciphering the mechanisms of resistance to existing and newly identified antimalarials. The candidate will be required to work with human and simian malarial parasites, Plasmodium falciparum, P. cynomolgi and P. knowlesi and performed forward and reverse genetic experiments to better understand the mechanisms of drug resistance.

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. o Curate and engage a list of mid/small cap stocks to be covered as part of programme KPI/output and allocations to the FIs/analysts

o Collaborate with independent research platforms on administration matters and content quality management

o Co-ordinate and commission industry/sector reports with third-party research firms

• Distribution

o Source and establish new distribution networks/channels for distribution of research reports

o Manage a dedicated central depository and distribute research reports from the programme and SGX Research (via website portals, institutional and retail distribution channels, etc.)

o Organise targeted research seminars, conferences, events for investors

o Develop ideas and run publicity and marketing of programme (e.g. tie-ups with tertiary institutes, media etc.)

o Conceptualize and drive campaigns to promote the programme by working with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Previous experience of programme management, driving promotional campaigns and event organizing/management, ideation/marketing and content distribution, with prior exposure to the financial industry
• Strong written/spoken English communication skills and the ability to build and establish relationships quickly
• Strong sense of commitment, ability to show initiative, resourcefulness and work independently; willingness to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities and learn new skills

This Research Fellow position is dedicated to advancing innovative research in the development of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light sources, with a primary focus on the growth, characterization, and optimization of advanced multilayer thin films. The Research Fellow will oversee all cleanroom activities associated with the project and ensure the successful delivery of project objectives. This role directly supports NTU's mission to drive technological innovation and uphold academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead research on the growth and characterization of advanced multilayer thin films using techniques like sputtering, e-beam, CVD, and ALD.
• Fabricate various nanostructures and conduct field emission experiments.
• Perform comprehensive characterizations using SEM, EDS, TEM, AFM, XPS, and other advanced tools.
• Analyze experimental results and publish findings in top-tier scientific journals.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and reports.
• Mentor PhD students and junior researchers, supporting their development in research methodologies and project execution.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a closely related field.
• Extensive cleanroom experience is essential.
• Strong expertise in thin-film growth, semiconductor fabrication, and advanced thin-film characterization, with proficiency in techniques such as SEM, EDS, TEM, AFM, XPS, surface profiling, etc.
• Strong understanding of high vacuum systems and high-voltage operations and cavity development.
• A robust publication record in high-impact journals is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
