We are looking for a Research Fellow to develop sensors and mitigants for bacterial contaminations in the cellular agriculture industry. An essential part of this research work is using protein-protein interactions (PPI) of the target bacteria both as basis for sensors development and as targets for mitigation. Peptides based on these PPI interfaces will serve for sensing the target bacteria as well as starting points for non-antibiotic mitigants. The job will include identifying potential target protein-protein interactions of the bacteria, designing and synthesizing peptides derived from these PPI interfaces, evaluating their inhibitory activity and antimicrobial activity and developing more advanced and active derivatives. The successful candidate will work with Dr Gloryn Chia on developing cancer immunotherapies.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow with expertise in immunology or oncology to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians and scientists to develop innovative platforms for identifying and validating novel immunotherapies, with a focus on studying the intricate interactions between T cells and cancer cells. This role will involve assessing and advancing therapeutic strategies, including vaccines targeting neoantigens and other novel antigens, to treat cancer and other human diseases.

The ideal candidate will independently design and execute experiments, troubleshoot technical challenges, interpret complex data, and deliver progress updates. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at understanding fundamental immune mechanisms and translating these insights into cancer treatment. Job Description

An experimental Postdoctoral Researcher Position in the group of Dr Ahmet Avsar at Material Science and Engineering Department of National University of Singapore is available to develop novel spintronics devices based on magnetic topological insulators.

The research involves advanced nanofabrication in state-of-the-art research facilities, and magneto-transport measurements utilizing low-temperature cryostats. It also includes data analysis, physical interpretation of the results and writing research articles. More specifically, spin surfaces of magnetic topological insulators will be probed and novel spintronics devices based on these intrinsic magnetic topological insulators will be developed. Our National Research Foundation supported group has a ~ 100 m2 lab space with a full access to a clean room facility at the Graphene Research Centre (CA2DM) dedicated to 2D device physics and a cryofree low temperature high magnetic field measurement facility (three cryostats capable of applying magnetic fields up to 12T at base temperatures down to 250 mK). While the researcher will have the opportunity to start her/his experiments immediately, she/he is also expected to contribute into building our newly established laboratory.

Qualifications

A PhD in experimental physics or engineering is required. Enthusiasm for research, ability to think and work independently, willingness to support PhD and undergraduate students, excellent analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements.

Interested candidates only with a very strong background in 2D heterostructure fabrication & low-temperature magnetotransport measurements will be considered. A strong background in topological insulators, related phases, and/or spin torque is advantageous.

Job Descriptions:

Using levitation, we aim to isolate and control physical systems with unprecedented precision. The rapidly evolving field of levitodynamics explores how such systems can be used as quantum sensors and for testing fundamental physics. Most current levitated systems are limited to small masses (nano/microgram) and rely on incoherent optical interactions, which scatter rather than reflect light.

By leveraging platforms such as diamagnetic, superconducting, and optical levitation, we aim to create ultra-precise quantum sensors and explore profound questions in physics, including quantum collapse mechanisms and quantum gravity.

The successful candidate will contribute to activities such as:

· Modeling the dynamics of levitated systems.

· Learning to operate advanced cryogenic systems.

· Designing, constructing, and characterizing optical systems.

· Exploring novel techniques to exceed the standard quantum limit using correlated spin systems.
