Using samples from multiple marine species that have been collected along an approximate 6000km east to west transect from Sumatra to Papua New Guinea, the candidate will work on a project that seeks to explain why the marine ecosystems of the Coral Triangle are so biologically diverse, what facilitates and what restricts gene flow in the region, and finally, how can this information be used to advance marine conservation planning in Southeast Asia.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Construction Performance Analytics & Innovation Research Unit (cPAIRu) at the Department of the Built Environment, National University of Singapore, concentrates on three primary research areas:
1) Project/Organization Performance Analytics and Innovations;
2) Project/Organization Management Strategies for Green Building & Infrastructure; and
3) Project/Organization Digitalization and Innovations.

As a leading international center for research and consultancy in the built environment industry, cPAIRu drives project and organizational innovations and fosters collaborations with both local and international academic and industry partners, while contributing to national development goals through partnerships among students and staff.

The cPAIRu is seeking a Research Assistant experienced in leading and executing research projects independently. The role demands a solid knowledge of project management and an in-depth understanding of digital transformation in the built environment industry. This includes knowledge of technological competencies, organizational readiness, regulatory and strategic developments, applications of smart technology, change management, and performance assessment. The Research Assistant's responsibilities will extend to administrative and management tasks associated with research projects, as well as pursuing a PhD degree under the guidance of the PI.

Ideal candidates should possess substantial research experience in relevant fields, robust data analysis skills, and, preferably, proficiency in programming for GenAI.

The successful applicant will perform academic development work as well as field practical work together with the other research staff/students under the guidance of the PI.

The Role
In this position, you will be working on software engineering for implementing source code to develop a stand-alone mobile app-based platform for the collection, analysis of
data related to managing heart conditions. You will work closely with software engineers, data analysts, project managers and industry partners to produce software design and architectures for prototyping and validating platforms towards managingwellness for end users.

Responsibilities

What Will The Role Include
• Collaborate with the design team, other software engineers and product managers to design, build, enhance, and test new features
• Write clean and maintainable code that is properly tested and reviewed
• Understand the product thoroughly; Analyse, design and develop functionalities based on product requirements
• Work with researchers to implement and develop parallel and distributed systems
• Identify and fix problems to improve stability and user experience
• Explore and evaluate the practicality of new technologies to improve existing processes and/or products
• Participate in regular development meetings and client engagement events

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, and Computer Engineering
• 2-3 years of front-end software engineering experience; candidate should prepare their software engineer portfolio repository for review
• Experience with iOS mobile app development is a must
• Knowledge of at least one of the server-side languages (Java, .NET, Python, Docker, Flask)
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, React Native, Flutter and JavaScript
• Understanding of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React
• Experience with prototyping software (Figma Developer Mode) is a must
• Candidate should be organized, meticulous, independent and has good communications skills

Job Description

We are seeking Postdoctoral Fellows to join our research team to work with PI and co-PIs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Architecture. The primary focus of this position is on developing destination choice models for future land use and transport systems using data-driven approaches.

Key responsibilities include:
• Collecting and analyzing relevant data.
• Designing tour-based destination choice models.
• Facilitating developed models into existing tour-based transport framework.
• Leading funded research projects, supervising research students, and preparing research proposals and reports.

This Postdoctoral researcher position is funded in the areas of urban and transport planning. Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise in discrete choice modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning methods.

Job Requirements

• Possess a PHD degree in related discipline such as transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in discrete choice modelling, statistical modeling, traffic simulation, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
