The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) of NTU is an exciting environment for research. The Yong research group works on novel problems in biological and complex systems and has published many high impact papers in top scientific journals such as Science, PNAS, Phys. Rev. Lett., etc.

Our approach is highly interdisciplinary, using emerging state-of-the-art methods from mathematics, physics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, topological data analysis, and statistics. We are interested in analyzing big data of complex systems such as DNA, RNA, biological networks, social networks, financial markets, etc., in order to understand their behavior, pattern and interaction.

Understanding the structure-function relationships of biomolecules is an active area of research due to its fundamental importance in biology, physics, and engineering. The emerging field of Mathematical AI for Molecular Sciences is proposed for molecular representation, featurization, and learning. We are interested in developing physical models using graphs, simplicial complexes for molecular representation, featurization, and learning, particularly in the context of nucleic acids such as DNA, G-quadruplex. The results from the research will provide key insights to understanding the structure-function relationships of biomolecules.

The Yong research group is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Research Fellow with the ambition of producing high quality research that can be published in high impact journals. The Research Fellow will be involved in research design, data analysis, model development, numerical simulations, and report/paper writing.

The Research Fellow is expected to perform state of the art numerical simulations using computing resources from National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore. The incumbent has freedom to design the nature and type of deep learning simulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize recently developed mathematical tools from algebraic topology, combinatorial topology, computational topology, and differential geometry (e.g., Betti numbers, Hodge-Laplacian, discrete Ricci curvature) to characterize and model biopolymers such as DNA and RNA.
• Develop simplicial models for molecular representation, featurization, and learning, particularly in the context of nucleic acids such as DNA, G-quadruple, to better understand form-function relationship in biology.

• Translate research findings into practical applications in pharmacology.

Operating Theatre Nurse’s Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist in paediatric sedation
2. Ensure communication with Anaesthesiologist and Radiation Oncologist throughout the procedure to ensure a successful treatment
3. Ensures patients’ safety at all times.
4. To check crash cart, emergency equipment and supplies daily.
5. Provide pre and post-operative nursing care.
6. Assist the Nurse Clinician/Manager in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient’s care.
7. Adhere the practices and SOPs to provide safe patient care.
8. Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high professional standards in patient care.
9. Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Clinic Manager or Doctor

Enrolled Nurse’s Job Responsibilities:

1. General nursing duties in radiology clinic services including patient preparation, pre-procedure questionaire, patient in&out of procedure room and post procedure care.
2. Able to perform cannulation & blood drawing
3. To assist doctor during consultation or in any procedures / treatment
4. Answer any phone call enquiries regarding to pre & post procedure care.
5. Follow up with patients on any feedback / concerns that they may have
6. Interact and coordinate with different teams to ensure that the centre's operations is running smoothly and efficiently
7. Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all nursing items.
8. Assist in collating patients' medical results and documents any patient assessment findings and progress
9. Provide administrative support to the department when required
10. Cover AHP radiology department when required
11. Any other adhoc duties as assigned by the Imaging/Wellness Manager

Requirements

1. Singapore registered nurse holding a post-registration qualification in operating theatre nursing
2. Operating theatre experience of not less than 6 months assisting the medical practitioner in the surgical procedure
3. Possess Singapore Nursing Board Practising Certificate
4. Possess ACLS/BCLS certifications

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care Management

· Scheduling patient appointments and making reminder calls.

· Handle patient enquires via phone/emails/ whatsapp

· Assist doctor during consultation and clinic procedures

· Scrubbing in with doctors when necessary

· Handle ordering of radiology exams, blood tests and other orders for patients, and also tracing of such reports for follow up consultations

· Provide clear instructions on the aforementioned exams

· Handle booking of operation theatres, wards, anaesthetist, frozen sections and others for a surgery

· Provide financial Counselling to patients who need to go for surgeries and provides, by giving estimates total fees

· Liaising with insurance companies to raise pre-authorizations and letters of guarantee

· Maintain effective communication with patients who are undergoing treatment and providing them with advice

Administrative Management

· Registering and billing of patients visits

· Submit claims for outpatient visits on TPA portals

· Maintain clinic inventory and equipment, including coordinating with external vendors for purchasing and maintenance of equipment and services

· Call for maintenance and repair work.

Job Requirements

· Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board

· BCLS & AED Certified

· Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Caring and compassionate nature

· Nurses with prior working experience in clinical settings will be an advantage

. Able to speak mandarin to the chinese-speaking patients.
