We are seeking applications for two full-time postdoctoral researcher/research fellow positions to work on building a theoretical framework to examine factors that affect public trust in digitalization, alongside trust in government and public institutions to manage associated risks. Through multi-city large scale surveys and online experiments, the study seeks to understand public attitudes towards technology, the digital information pipeline, and the role of government. This research will contribute to policy design and the implementation of digital technologies in a way that is sensitive to public concerns and expectations.

The two positions are available from Q3 2024 (reasonably earlier or later start date is negotiable) for 3 years each. Understanding the pharmaco/ nutrico/ toxicokinetic behaviour of drugs, chemicals and food ingredients is a fundamental step in assessing the efficacy and safety of these materials. It can be challenging to study such substances directly in human subjects, while animal models lack direct translatability to humans due to inherent differences in species biology. One promising strategy is the use of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling to predict the local tissue and systemic exposure of these substances. We have developed in-house in vitro and in silico tools to model chemical absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) in humans using data generated from in vitro assays. We apply these tools to predict pharmacokinetic profiles in different settings, ranging from oral or transdermal administration to studying special populations such as pregnant women, for a variety of substances including pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, environmental contaminants, essential micronutrients and microbial metabolites. These capabilities are further enhanced with state-of-the-art, enabling technologies such as the SHIME® intestinal digestion simulator and spatial mass spectrometry imaging.

The candidate in this position will be expected to be involved in the following activities:

• Literature search to extract relevant ADME data for chemicals of interest.
• Perform in vitro absorption, transporter, metabolism, fraction unbound and other related ADME assays.

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is seeking Research Associate(s) who will assist with ongoing projects in the field of social science, including financial literacy, economics of aging, social security, and public policy.

The successful candidate should have an interest in one or more of the above-listed topics, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong willingness to learn about new topics. The candidate must demonstrate good competence in quantitative research methods, and be proficient with statistical software such as STATA or R. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

This position requires a minimum of two years of past research experience as a full-time RA (in any field). This position requires working with large datasets and caters to individuals who are looking to develop a career or pursue further studies in the fields of public policy or social science research. The Research Associate will work directly with Asst Professor Joelle Fong.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities of the full-time Research Associate include:

• Research support for projects under a 5-year research programme
• Conduct literature reviews.
• Perform quantitative data analysis on research projects.
• Independently collect and manage primary and/or secondary data for research projects.
• Contribute to writing research reports, policy briefs, and journal articles
• Prepare manuscripts for submission, and other administrative work.

Job Requirements:

We are looking for a researcher with experience in working with carbon and glass fiber composite materials, epoxies, fire resistance and/or mechanical behavior of composites.

• Work within the framework of the project to achieve and go beyond the project objectives.
