Project Overview

This research project aims to grasp dynamic changes in hotel capital investments and their influences on tourism-related local businesses before, during, and after the pandemic on two geographic scales -- region (Asia-Pacific) and city (Singapore). • Organization of day-to-day analytical and research activities which include study design, analysis, preparation of manuscripts/reports/proposals
• Work with various stakeholders (including industry/academic partners) and HSR team members to advise and contribute to the formulation of research questions, design and analysis of research projects
• Able to perform two or more of the following tasks independently and is a technical lead in his/her speciality in HSR

1. Search, critically appraise and synthesize evidence from medical literature to inform stakeholders in the planning and delivery of care as well as in the investment of health technology.
2. Conduct program evaluation and perform statistical analysis required for outcomes research
3. Conduct qualitative research which include interviews, focus group discussions and thematic analysis
4. Perform predictive and/or prescriptive analytics which can potentially yield improvement in operational efficiency or patient outcomes or experience.

• Participate in scientific conferences and scientific manuscript writing as first author, co-author or invited speaker
• Conduct research and studies in manners which comply with HBRA/CIRB requirements
• Offer administrative/technical leadership, guidance and research support to CGH staff in at least one of the domains on analytics, health technology assessment, and programme evaluation
• Lead the development of educational curriculum which aims to improve capacity to perform research and programme evaluation within CGH.
• Lead the organization and conduct of the workshops and/or talks based on the aforementioned curriculum
• Support HOD in mentoring and development of junior members within the HSR team
• Provide administrative support to the HOD in the management of the department and planning of the HSR activities which include workplan, department budgeting, team building, publicity of HSR, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

a. Educational / Professional Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD qualification in Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health.

b. Relevant Experience & Skills

• Minimum 7 to 9 years of relevant working experience in health services research and research administration
• Prior experience in providing health services research consultancy
• Track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals as first author
• Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Applications and analysis software (e.g. SPSS, STATA, NVIVO, Treeage, Simul8, C++, R, Python)

The Dementia Research Centre (Singapore) [DRCS], part of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), is dedicated to advancing research on cognitive impairment and dementia spectrum disorders. As a multi-study research center, DRCS focuses on the pathobiology of Asian dementia and innovative models of care for cognitive disorders. Position: Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Assistant or Research Associate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biomedical Engineering or Neuroscience or Psychology and related fields, to contribute to ongoing and future research initiatives, including BIOCIS (Biomarkers and Cognition Study, Singapore), CHOICE (Cerebrovascular Health, Optical Imaging, Cognition, and Evaluation of Lifestyle Intervention Study), and AMBITION (Asian Mild Cognitive Impairment – Blood-based Biomarkers, Ischemia, and Neuroinflammation Changes in the Asian Brain). Key Responsibilities:

Data Management and Analysis:

• Organize and execute processing of imaging data using open source imaging algorithms and interpret results from neuroimaging and eye imaging studies
• Collaborate with data analysis teams to ensure integrity and clarity in the research outputs across all studies.
• Perform study-related statistical analyses
• Develop machine learning models to track disease progression using advanced statistical analyses
• Conduct literature reviews
• Prepare analysis plans, reports and manuscripts

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams within DRCS and external collaborators to ensure the success of multi-study initiatives.
