The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. These tools will be used in a comprehensive study of all forms of RNA -- the ribonucleome -- and the >170 RNA modifications -- the epitranscriptome -- in disease pathobiology, host-pathogen interactions, biomarker development, and therapeutic target discovery.

Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will plan and conduct experiments with the aim of studying the roles of RNA modifications in human immunue diseases. Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, NTU is looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in heterogeneous catalysis to develop improved catalyst formulations for conversion of plastic waste into carbon nanotubes and hydrogen.

The project is funded by National Environment Agency, Singapore to address one of the largest problems in waste management – the problem of plastic waste pollution. A significant fraction of plastic waste has substandard quality for mechanical and chemical recycling even after sorting and cleaning. The Research Fellow will use pyrolysis-chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology for converting these plastic waste streams (specifically, contaminated and rejected plastics) into multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and hydrogen. The role of Research Fellow is to develop catalysts that will allow to reduce catalyst cost and increase carbon nanotubes yield to make the process more economically viable.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be undertaking full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment within the following areas:

• Catalyst formulation and testing in pyrolysis-CVD process;
• Liaising with toll manufacturers regarding the feasibility of scaled up catalyst production.

Requirements

• Education: Currently enrolled in a university or polytechnic program, preferably in a design-related major such as Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design/Research, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Design Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with at least two mainstream design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, InVisionApp, Flinto).
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and statistical skills; proficiency in data analysis software or AI tools for big data analysis is preferred. A genuine interest in using data and user research to inform design decisions is essential.

Research Fellow

We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow (Research Fellow). A person with background in molecular biology, cell culture, imaging and data analysis (including modelling and python programming) and has theoretical background on actin are encouraged to apply.

• Leading the design and fabrication of superconducting qubits that resist to moderate magnetic fields
• Spearheading the development and fabrication of chips that combine superconducting circuits and integrated photonics
• Exploring novel fabrication methods to couple rare-earth ions in solid-state with integrated optics and superconducting circuits
• Measuring quantum correlations between microwave photons at cryogenic temperature and telecom photons at room temperature

Qualifications

Postdoc applicants should have proven research experience and have a strong interest in quantum technologies.
