We have developed in-house in vitro and in silico tools to model chemical absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) in humans using data generated from in vitro assays. We apply these tools to predict pharmacokinetic profiles in different settings, ranging from oral or transdermal administration to studying special populations such as pregnant women, for a variety of substances including pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, environmental contaminants, essential micronutrients and microbial metabolites. These capabilities are further enhanced with state-of-the-art, enabling technologies such as the SHIME® intestinal digestion simulator and spatial mass spectrometry imaging.

We are looking for candidates to join the fusion energy effort in the newly formed Plasma Physics & Energy Group (PPE), Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR. PPE focuses primarily on microwave plasma diagnostics and RF heating and current drive (H&CD), with an emphasis on solving the challenges faced by future fusion energy systems. The new hire is expected to contribute to, and potentially lead, research in magnetic confinement fusion. This includes analytical, computational, and experimental approaches, with the particular emphasis dependent on one's interests and skillset. While the new hire will begin by working on existing projects in plasma diagnostics, participation in grant calls as a Principal Investigator is highly encouraged.

The key scope of work includes:

• Understanding the physics of fusion plasmas, plasma diagnostics, and RF H&CD.
• Working closely with the rest of the team to develop, validate, deploy, and maintain analysis codes to better interpret diagnostics data from fusion experiments.
• Writing grants and developing the direction of fusion research in IHPC.
• Supervising students and interns (optional).

• PhD in Physics, Plasma Physics or equivalent with a background in magnetic confinement fusion, such as in plasma physics and/or engineering

• Deep knowledge in at least one of:

Theoretical plasma physics (such as plasma waves, turbulent transport).

Computational plasma physics (such as fullwave, beam tracing, gyrokinetics).

Operations

• Responsible for inbound receiving and put-away, outbound order pick and pack, and value-add operations.

The Research Fellow (RF) will design studies and conduct research testing the efficacy of a newly-developed music-based Brain Computer Interface (BCI) for emotion regulation in listeners. She/he will work in a multi-disciplinary team to 1) conduct R&D of our automatic music generation systems for affective music generation, and 2) help test the efficacy of a music generation system paired with a BCI for emotion regulation in healthy as well as neurological and/or mental health patients. The RF will design and conduct experimental research and user studies, help coordinate research activities, and perform data analyses. The RF will need to be capable of working both independently and in a team, of developing innovative solutions, and of publishing research findings in high-impact conferences and journals. This position is part of an exciting large-scale (multi-research team) project that aims to create a holistic BCI solution for the restoration and enhancement of brain functions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user studies and experiment interfaces to test the efficacy of an affective music generation system paired with a BCI.
• Explore solutions for music and BCI-driven therapy for mental health (depression, anxiety).
• Conduct pilot trials of an EEG-based musical BCI
