The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI), National University of Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence dedicated to interrogating biological systems from a physical and mechanical perspective. We are a multidisciplinary institute committed to developing new paradigms for biomedical research by focusing on the quantitative analysis of dynamic functional processes.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Yan Jie’s and Dr. Alexander Ludwig’s group to work on mechanotransduction mechanisms in polarized epithelial cells. This is a highly collaborative project involving three PIs at MBI as well as the group of Alexander Ludwig at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), NTU Singapore. The aim of this project is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that sense and transmit mechanical forces from the apical surface of epithelial cells to the Hippo/YAP signalling pathway. A combination of in vitro force measurements, biochemical approaches, cell-based assays and live cell fluorescence imaging of mechanically perturbed cell monolayers will be used to tackle this question. The project and the position will begin in April 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Distributed AI algorithm design in autonomous driving scenarios for real-time object recognition and image segmentation.
• Design of attack and defense algorithms for perception models in autonomous driving scenarios.
• Testing for autonomous driving scenarios, including AI models and control strategies.
• Write research paper.

• Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in trustworthy AI, adversarial attacks, or model interpretation.
• Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python, Java, PyTorch and Tensorflow will be positively considered/ is required.
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on reinforcement learning, federated learning, adversarial attacks and real-time system design.
• Experience with at least one programming software/languages, such as Python or Java is preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of image classification, object detection, image segmentation and reinforcement learning.
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
• Applicants with research publications in autonomous driving testing, real-time system design, adversarial attack and defenses area will be advantageous.

Supply Chain Management Officer (Purchasing & Logistics)

Responsibilities

Procurement of office supplies and pantry supplies.

Assist in Material Requirement Planning (MRP), monitoring delivery schedule and inventory control of VMI items in a Pull/JIT Production environment.

Liaise with Marketing and Sales Department on shipping documentation, scheduling and booking local transportation and outbound sea/air freight.

Work closely with other departments to resolve product quality and customer complaint issues.

Participate in Kaizen/continuous improvement projects.

Requirements:

Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply, but 2 years experience in the manufacturing industry can be beneficial.

Knowledge of ISO9000, TS16949, ISO14001 and OHSAS18000 preferred.

Knowledge in implementing Supply Chain Management practices, inventory control and distribution management.

Experience in using ERP software especially Lawson’s Movex and implementation of kaizen/continuous improvement will be added advantage.

Resourceful individual and a good team player

Positive and willing to learn, able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

Deliverables:

To achieve departmental Objectives, especially on efficient operation cost control, shipping OTD, stock control, etc.

Successful implementation and post review of either departmental/company’s Kaizen/ Lean projects.

Prompt and “Delighted” resolution of customer complaints.
