Overview

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our full-day programme, designed to provide consistency for children and a reliable schedule for parents. First 90 Days

• Immerse yourself in AltSchool’s approach, blending play-responsive methods, Montessori principles, and evidence-based therapies.
• Get up to speed with our policies, procedures, and digital tools, including our school management system and Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with and support lead teachers and therapists to implement tailored educational plans and set up classrooms for effective learning.
• Learn to manage behaviours, implement routines, and support children’s progress.
• Assist in documenting daily notes, progress updates, and class preparations to ensure a seamless educational experience.
• Build rapport with families to establish trust and communication channels.

Typical Expectations

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field.
