We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's in computer science.
• Strong programming experience and must be open to learning new things.
• Strong mathematical background, and is excited by the possibility of applying algebraic methods (e.g. in computational algebra) to problems in machine reasoning.

The Edge AI Acceleration Lab (https://sites.google.com/view/bowang/home) in Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore is leading a project on Energy Efficient, Distributed Green Streaming Machine Learning for Edges with Prof. Zehui Xiong (https://sites.google.com/view/zehuixiong), who is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. The team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Assistant / Research Fellow. The ideal candidate is expected to hold a Master's / Ph.D. degree with expertise in one of the following domains:

1. Streaming Machine Learning with performance/energy modeling, parallelization framework, or hybrid-model learning
2. Load shedding techniques, efficient workload offloading, or fault-tolerant mechanisms
3. Streaming compression algorithm implementation, or AI-guided automatic system tuning

* Develop and maintain strong in-store product knowledge

* Assist walk-in customers in purchasing products

* Promote products and optimize sales opportunities

* Attend to customer orders and inquiries

* Perform housekeeping duties to maintain the store’s cleanliness and image.
