Context:
Job title: Power Trader
Seniority: Trader mandate
Role:
- Trading financial power derivatives in Singapore and being accountable on book P&L performance through VT activities.
- In-depth understanding in various drivers of Japan power market, as well as global energy markets (oil, gas, macro, carbon, regulations etc.). Alongside market knowledge, the person shall also be the expertise centre of Japan power trading business, including trade life cycle, nomination, gird code. Trading horizon covers all periods available products on EEX and other exchanges Japan power futures.
- Proactively evaluating market new momentum, actively catching trading opportunities, as well as effectively managing exiting Japan power portfolio risk
- Work closely with Japan power traders and originator based in Tokyo. Provide analytical insight in assisting and expanding Japan power trading scope. Initiating new ideas for big structural deals. Innovate new profitable revenue streams.
- Comprehensive knowledge in Japan power trading counterparties, and able to elevate relationship alongside sales person
- Adding ideas to trade strategy meetings, presentations, reports and updating analysis upon request
- Assisting and troubleshooting issues which may occur in physical power trading and delivering phases
- Liaise with various internal teams such as KYC, Legal, Tax, IT, Middle Office and Back Office on various trade life cycle matters.
- Able to reconcile PnL reports should disagreement occurs
Hard skills:
- In-depth knowledge in physical life cycle Japan power
- MS Office computer skills, VBA/database development would be an asset

- Entrepreneurship to build business, thinking outside of the box
- Analytical thinker, learner, curious and keen to push for creative ideas, enthusiastic about what he/she is doing and passionate about the market

Education and professional background:
