Job Description:

• Handle customer inquiries to evaluate the specific application requirements. Select and size up a suitable vacuum pump or blower to meet the customer’s need.
• Develop customer proposals for vacuum pump and blower solutions. Scope of work will include pump sizing, matching of spare parts, outsourcing some accessories, costing and pricing.
• Engage the customers via phone calls and emails on a day-to-day basis to follow up on quotations and technical clarification.
• Act as the single point of contact for technical & commercial clarification for customers, contractors, resellers and agents.
• Support the Customer Service Manager to track, analyse and report quote activities; participate in Monthly Reporting process.
• Execute contract review prior to order entry to ensure clean-order process. Evaluate and interpret customers’ specification against our offer. Clarify with customer where necessary to resolve unclear requirements.
• Assist the Order Administration team to create sales order, procurement, shipment and shipping information going back to the customer up to the point of delivery.
• This incumbent will be trained to conduct product and application training to end-user customers.
• The scope of territorial coverage includes Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Key accountabilities

• Support BHP’s Scope 3 Action Plan and Business Strategy by:
• Originating and managing projects and technical programs in coordination with BHP’s steel customers, research and other partners and vendors
• Leading engagement and forming high-value working relationships with internal functions, external partners and other stakeholders
• Providing technical, commercial and strategic expertise to aid project design and high-quality delivery of steel decarbonisation initiatives and subject matter input towards BHP’s scope 3 goals and Asset and product marketing plans

About You

• Minimum of 12 years exposure to the steel/ferrous sector and deep technical expertise in process technologies, raw material use and industry trends

• Experience in R&D and experimental techniques to study iron ore agglomeration, direct reduction and electric furnace iron/steel production
