THE OPPORTUNITY

Gearing up for the next growth stage, Janio is looking for a dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating outbound pipeline opportunities that will help grow and expand our business. The role will involve working closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify potential clients, and execute sales strategies that will help convert leads into customers.

THE ROLE

• Identify and qualify new sales leads through research, networking, and outbound sales calls
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop leads into new business opportunities
• Conduct market research to identify potential customers and their needs, and provide recommendations to the sales and marketing teams on how to capitalize on these opportunities
• Participate in trade shows, industry events and network with potential clients to promote Janio's services
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and quotas
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity and customer interactions

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in outbound sales and business development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to quickly establish rapport with new customers
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Results-driven approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Handle existing customers’ account and look for new customers
• Handling enquiry, negotiating price, preparing quotation, order and delivery
• Support distributors in market development, products knowledge and commercial requirement
• To review the distributor’s performance periodically and make recommendations for sales improvements and distributors’ motivation
• Participate or visit trade fairs worldwide
• Identifying & generating new business opportunities within assigned territory
• Visit clients of existing markets and potential customers in new market
• Working closely with IP Lawyer and Clients for taking action against infringer of company’s trademarks and products
• Perform any other duties or ad hoc projects assigned

Requirement:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business studies or Marketing.
• Occasional travelling to oversea are required.
• Resourceful, meticulous and independent
• Energetic with high level of initiative and dedication
• Possess good communication and strong analytical skills

The Head of Commercial Sales, Asia will be responsible for driving targeted revenue growth across the region. They will manage and coach a team of sales professionals, and develop strategic relationships with clients to support revenue and product growth in our fastest growing market.

Based in Hong Kong the role will be responsible for growing revenue across our events and marketing services.  You are an action-oriented, results-driven, and credible commercial professional with a record of B2B sales, ideally in financial services. You will also bring inspiration, credibility and commercial awareness to the business and can think longer-term, while driving execution tactically and managing the balance between the two.  In your role, you will be managing a set of clients but you will also be working with your wider team of account managers/directors and business development managers to hit and exceed targeted revenue numbers.

Key Accountabilities

• Setting and achieving sales targets for the region
• Developing and implementing sales strategies to increase market share and revenue
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners
• Recruiting, training, and managing a high-performing sales team
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Providing regular sales reports and analysis to senior management
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and market changes to inform sales strategies
• Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to support revenue growth and product growth.

Structure and Size of Team

You will report to the Global Head of Sales with a dotted line to the Managing Director of Asia and manage a team of account directors, account managers and business development managers within the region. 

• Proven track record of success in sales leadership, with at least 8-10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the APAC region.
• Natural leadership skills, including the ability to influence and motivate team members
• Deep domain expertise combined with an understanding of B2B information services models, including lead-generation, digital advertising, events (incl. conferences, awards, training, trade-shows), research, and data
• Proven commercial experience and strategic mind-set (strong business / commercial acumen as well as analytical capabilities)
• Ability to engage with clients, colleagues and multiple stakeholders, forming effective relationships;
• Can represent the brand and business externally, outward-facing role, with high levels of client and customer interaction
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills
• Able to identify growth areas in the short and long term as well as launch new products – demonstrate a track record in creating value
• A ‘rounded’ and highly-collaborative senior leader, with experience in a similar position, that leads by example and is willing to be hands on as appropriate
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and within a global matrix organization: build strong relationships across teams, experience in leading teams, and working collaboratively to achieve objectives
