As an Equipment Engineer, you will own all assigned toolsets. The Research Data Integration group in the Biomedical Datahub Division of the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), A*STAR, aims to bridge the complexity of computational biology and data science with the needs of biologists and clinicians to drive biological discoveries and predict translational outcomes. We are developing data platforms in BII Biomed DAR, integrating healthcare data including clinical and research data, for various diseases including cancer, metabolic diseases and skin diseases. We are seeking a computational scientist to develop analytical, statistical and machine learning methodologies and workflows for analysis and integration of large-scale multi-dimensional omics (bulk, single-cell, spatial), perturbation screens, imaging and clinical data) for these data platforms. The candidate is expected to drive data science research to uncover underlying diseases biology, druggable targets and develop personalized medicine approaches. This position offers the candidate an opportunity to work closely with a team of clinicians, wet-lab scientists and computational biologists. He/She is also expected to drive high impact publications and manage large-scale projects, include data management.

Requirements:

The Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI) at Duke-NUS Medical School is looking for a Research Assistant to support in vitro and in vivo research efforts surrounding nuclear and optical imaging. The LTMI group advances state-of-the-art small animal imaging platforms and fosters the translation of molecular imaging probes and associated technologies. Multimodal in vivo imaging techniques are employed at LTMI, including computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), single photon computed tomography (SPECT), and fluorescence imaging.

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant position in Dr Mohammad Alfatah’s lab, part of Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The lab focuses on discovering anti-aging interventions to delay ageing and chronic disease onset, increase healthspan and improve life quality. Appointments will be on a 1-year contract in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to and work closely with Dr Mohammad Alfatah to provide support in research projects with a specific focus on discovering chemical (drugs, natural products, metabolites, etc) and genetic anti-aging interventions. This includes assessing the effectiveness of potential compounds in various age-related disease models.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform daily basic chemical and genetic high-throughput screening in yeast and human cells, molecular biology experiments related to DNA, RNA, protein and cell culture work.
2. Conduct literature searches, experimental plans, and data analysis independently and reliably.
3. Oversee the general management of the lab including managing inventories of chemical, cell lines and instruments.
