We are looking for a full-time pre-doctoral student to work as a Research Associate on INSEAD’s Singapore campus. This position is ideal for recent Master’s graduates looking to develop their research skills, with a view of applying to a PhD program. We are looking for someone who is good at managing data and in particular using software packages such as Stata, Python, and R. Ideally, they would also have experience working on a research project in the social sciences. The Research Associate core mission is to assist the school’s Strategy faculty in conducting research.

TASKS:

• Assist with quantitative research projects in the areas of strategy and management.
• Extract data from conventional databases (e.g., CRSP, Compustat, etc.) or hand-collect and clean data from company documents for analysis.

We are looking for talented wet-lab Research Fellow to work with a multidisciplinary group of scientists on the discovery of new targets for therapy in Diabetic Nephropathy (DN), a devastating complication of diabetes causing significant morbidity, mortality and human suffering. The Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders (CVMD) Programme at Duke-NUS houses state-of-the-art technologies for profiling mitochondrial function and metabolic adaptations in model organisms and undertakes translational research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a severe metabolic liver disease that can affect up to 6.5% of the adult population, with only one FDA-approved drug. Dr. Jin Zhou’s team is specialised in studying the novel molecular pathogenesis underlying MASH for the identification of new druggable targets. The lab uses a combination of biochemistry, genetics, animal modeling, and metabolomics approaches to understand cellular processes related to mitochondrial function and hepatic lipid metabolism.

The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), Duke-NUS Medical School, is recruiting a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to lead state-of-the-art small animal imaging studies in Viral Infectious Disease. LTMI aims to develop local infrastructure and deep capabilities in the development of molecular imaging technologies for guiding the advancement and translation of new imaging biomarkers to guide novel therapeutics in viral infectious disease.

The successful candidate will lead pre-clinical imaging efforts to validate novel imaging probes that target potential biomarkers of viral infection and host response. He/She will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and communication of research. The Ho lab at Duke-NUS is building a platform to mine the human genome for novel determinants of the inflammatory response. Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python (preferred) or R, with experience in relevant libraries for ML and data processing (e.g., Scikit-Learn, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Data Management: Familiarity with data extraction, cleaning, and preprocessing methods; experience with SQL or other database management tools is a plus.
• Machine Learning Knowledge: Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including supervised and unsupervised learning, model selection, and evaluation techniques.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in data analysis and algorithm implementation.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a research environment, with effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Prior research experience or involvement in machine learning or data science projects is advantageous.
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms like AWS or GCP for ML model deployment (optional but a plus).

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and, coordinating various aspects of projects related to the development and implementation of the technologies under NSTIC
• Ensure timely and successful delivery of the project within budget through the management and control of project risk, scope, schedule, budget and quality
• Manage internal and external stakeholders such as the technical team, NSTIC management, universities, other government agencies and the industry
• Documenting and reporting of project progress and outcomes
• Support other operational activities in the centre

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor or Masters in any engineering / project management related discipline
• At least 3 years of project management experience in semiconductor/microelectronics/photonics or research project
• PMP certifications or equivalent will be advantageous
• Good business acumen, driven to deliver customer requirements and project deadlines
• Proactive team player and technically motivated to solve problems, innovate and deliver to internal and external stakeholders
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
