This project focuses on the combustion fundamentals of hydrogen, ammonia, their blends, and their blends with hydrocarbon fuels. The HYCOMB project aims to develop a deeper understanding of hydrogen/ammonia combustion phenomena and improve the efficiency, stability, and environmental sustainability of gas turbines and internal combustion engines. As a Postdoctoral Researcher in WP2.1, you will play a key role in deploying advanced diagnostics to study laminar H2/NH3 flames, a crucial step towards understanding combustion instability and pollutant formation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate a burner for laminar flame experiments, compatible with high-frequency diagnostics
• Conduct experiments on steady and pulsated laminar H2/NH3 flames using spontaneous emission of radicals (OH*, NH*) and laser absorption spectroscopy of stable species (NH3, H2O, N2O)
• Modulate injection conditions to induce controlled fluctuations of velocity, which will drive the oscillation of heat release, pollutant formation, and other quantities of interest

Responsibilities:

1. New product planning:

• Analyse industrial trends, market data and customer insights to derive constructive ideas and information for the purpose of NPD.

2. New product development (NPD):

• Responsible for entire NPD process; from concept initiation to completion, for both new product and reformulations.

We are looking for a research fellow for the project on ultraprecision fabrication of functional components with additive manufacturing and micro-scale surface treatment. Project Overview

The AMR IRG is an interdisciplinary community of biologists, engineers, and clinicians from MIT and Singapore, sharing a state-of-the art research facility and united by a commitment to providing a supportive intellectual environment where students and staff can learn, grow, and contribute to solving a pressing societal problem.

The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. These tools will be used in a comprehensive study of all forms of RNA -- the ribonucleome -- and the >170 RNA modifications -- the epitranscriptome -- in disease pathobiology, host-pathogen interactions, biomarker development, and therapeutic target discovery.

Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will plan and conduct experiments with the aim of studying the roles of RNA modifications in human immunue diseases. The candidate will work primarily on cell culture, RNA isolation, and chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry analysis. As part of this work, the candidate will prepare results for publication, be a liasion with the AMR IRG community, work with external collaborators, and develop strong experimental and communication skills.

Requirements

You will be part of a well-funded initiative to create quantum networks of superconducting circuits mediated by telecom photons. Your job could include the following subjects:

• Leading the design and fabrication of superconducting qubits that resist to moderate magnetic fields
• Spearheading the development and fabrication of chips that combine superconducting circuits and integrated photonics
• Exploring novel fabrication methods to couple rare-earth ions in solid-state with integrated optics and superconducting circuits
• Measuring quantum correlations between microwave photons at cryogenic temperature and telecom photons at room temperature

Qualifications

Postdoc applicants should have proven research experience and have a strong interest in quantum technologies. Furthermore, a PhD in Experimental Physics or Engineering is required, as well as knowledge on quantum optics measurement, optical fiber equipment, as well as cryogenic equipment. Ideally you received your PhD working on superconducting circuits, spin defects in solid-state, integrated optics or quantum optics experiments.

Contract Period:
