Chronic unresolved inflammation is a key pathogenic feature of prevalent inflammatory disorders and related syndromes that together are predicted to affect close to 60 million people with an annual cost of $90B. As such, the global anti-inflammatory therapeutic market is in urgent need for new targets for therapeutic intervention.

The Ho lab at Duke-NUS is building a platform to mine the human genome for novel determinants of the inflammatory response. Working with the appointment PI to validate as fit for use an existing specimen and community science dataset of insects of importance for public and environmental health, especially mosquitoes and stinging wasps.
