Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant/Research Associate will:

1. Process a wide range of biosamples that includes but not limited to blood and stool.
2. Provide and maintain accurate laboratory record and data
3. Adhere to all laboratory safety and procedures in accordance with the laboratory SOPs.
4. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with SOPs
5. Perform laboratory housekeeping as assigned
6. Must be work at 3 sites as rostered
7. Must be able to work on weekends
8. Perform other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer

Qualifications

1. have a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, Life science or related discipline.

This project aims to investigate the performance of cementitious materials and 3D printed concrete against ballistic and blast loadings. The researcher will be required to cast and fabricate the various cementitious materials and 3D printed concrete, prepare the logistics and perform the relevant ballistic and blast tests. He/she will also be required to set up the numerical models in commercial FE software (e.g. LS Dyna), validated against experimental data, to understand the mechanisms in resisting the high impact loadings for the various cementitious materials.

Job Requirements

The research fellow should have a PhD degree in a relevant field, with experience in the following areas:

• 3D concrete printing;

• Design of blast tests for concrete specimens;

The successful candidate will support the Centre by i) conducting research projects aligned to the Centre’s strategy and key priorities, ii) preparing reports, publications and materials for funding bids, iii) providing supervision and mentorship to junior researchers, particularly in the area of mixed methods research, and iv) facilitating workshops and engagement activities.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Work closely with the team leads, cross-disciplinary research teams and collaborators.
• Design, plan, undertake and deliver research and evaluation projects using both quantitative and qualitative designs.
• Provide expert methodological and statistical advice to Centre staff across Centre projects.
• Provide advanced statistical analyses and data visualizations using R, Python, or STATA for presentation of important findings in policy briefings and peer-reviewed publications
• Lead writing for reports, peer-reviewed publications, and grant proposals

Qualifications
