Job Summary

A Postdoctoral position is available at the Berkeley Education Alliance for Research in Singapore (BEARS) with Assistant Professor Yanwei Lum. The goal of the project is to develop electrochemical systems for CO2 conversion and work with high sensitivity analytical tools that would be amenable for high throughput screening and reaction mechanism investigation. They will also work in the framework of a larger team at BEARS for high throughput analysis and screening. It is expected that these will eventually lead to rationally designed catalysts for electrochemical CO­2 reduction.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform materials synthesis and characterization.
2. Carry out electrochemical studies to determine electrocatalyst performance.
3. Perform product analysis and quantification using methods such as GC, HPLC and NMR.
4. Perform mechanistic studies of electrochemical CO2 reduction mechanisms.
5. Work with high sensitivity chemical analysis equipment.

Qualifications
