This project aims to advance the field of photon-modulated organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs), with a particular focus on photon-modulated electrochemical doping systems for flexible OECTs. This research is critical for advancing OECT-based circuits in bioelectronics, wearable electronics, and artificial neuromorphic electronics (e.g., optoelectronic synapses). A postdoctoral researcher is sought to contribute to this cutting-edge research, which lies at the intersection of organic semiconductors, materials science, and electrochemistry. We are looking for a motivated bioinformatics specialist who is keen on studying how microbes contribute to common skin diseases such as eczema and acne. Our lab is focused on leveraging new technologies to better study microbial populations and their impact on human health. We have extensive experience in metagenomic analysis in clinically or commercially important contexts such as uncovering distinct microbial communities in households affected by paediatric eczema (PMID: 35318044) and revealing the microbial basis of body odour in teenagers (PMID: 30497517). The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. Job Description

Research Fellow position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Fellow will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on theories and applications of learning-based control. The project will investigate and develop both deep reinforcement learning algorithms and conventional robust adaptive control methods, to develop safety-critical learning-based control algorithms that leverage the advantages of both model-based and model-free methods. In particular, the developed algorithms will be demonstrated through robust control of drones.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The candidates will be responsible for conducting theoretical research and algorithm development. The candidates are expected to help the PI supervise junior PhD students as well.

HYCOMBS Project is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to join the project, a research initiative focused on advancing combustion science and technology for gas turbines and internal combustion engines in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and contribute to Work Package 2.1, “Laminar H2/NH3 flames”, led by Dr. Ducruix and Dr. Minesi.

HYCOMBS PROJECT

HYCOMBS: Hydrogen and Ammonia Combustion in Singapore

In the future, Singapore may be importing renewable energy in the form of hydrogen (H2) or ammonia (NH3). These zero-carbon fuels will require the development of new gas turbines (GTs) and internal combustion engines (ICE) used in power generation, aviation, and maritime propulsion.

This project focuses on the combustion fundamentals of hydrogen, ammonia, their blends, and their blends with hydrocarbon fuels. The knowledge acquired in HYCOMBS will enable the penetration of zero-carbon fuels in the Singapore energy system and this will benefit Singaporean industries and residents.

DESCRIPTION

The HYCOMB project aims to develop a deeper understanding of hydrogen/ammonia combustion phenomena and improve the efficiency, stability, and environmental sustainability of gas turbines and internal combustion engines. As a Postdoctoral Researcher in WP2.1, you will play a key role in deploying advanced diagnostics to study laminar H2/NH3 flames, a crucial step towards understanding combustion instability and pollutant formation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate a burner for laminar flame experiments, compatible with high-frequency diagnostics
• Conduct experiments on steady and pulsated laminar H2/NH3 flames using spontaneous emission of radicals (OH*, NH*) and laser absorption spectroscopy of stable species (NH3, H2O, N2O)
• Modulate injection conditions to induce controlled fluctuations of velocity, which will drive the oscillation of heat release, pollutant formation, and other quantities of interest
• Measure local flow conditions using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) to correlate flame behavior with flow strain
• Collaborate with other partners to implement laser absorption spectroscopy in other rigs and validate kinetic schemes and simulations (WP1)
• Contribute to the development of laser absorption spectroscopy diagnostics for online detection of combustion efficiency, ammonia slip, and N2O pollutant emissions

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Combustion Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
• Strong background in experimental combustion, flame diagnostics, and data analysis
• Experience with optical diagnostics (ideally laser-induced fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy, but not required)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with international partners
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of combustion kinetics and modeling
• Experience with particle image velocimetry (PIV) or other flow measurement techniques

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Officer specializing in AI and spatial multi-omics to join our cutting-edge research team. This role focuses on advancing cancer immunotherapy (IO) for Asian-prevalent tumors through the integration of Generative AI techniques and spatial multi-omics data analysis. This position offers a unique opportunity to address critical challenges in immunotherapy, such as the identification of effective biomarkers and an in-depth understanding of the tumor microenvironment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Multi-Omics-IO Classifier Development: Develop and validate a classifier to integrate IO biomarkers identified from the multi-omics analyses, benchmarked against conventional markers (e.g., PD-1/PD-L1).

2. AI Model Development: Create AI models for virtual staining to visualize gene expression and multi-omics biomarkers.

3. Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate with pathologists, immunologists, and AI researchers to ensure robust, clinically relevant model development. Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication.
