Project Overview

SMART CAMP (Critical Analytics for Manufacturing Personalized-Medicine) is an interdisciplinary research programme in Singapore (CREATE international research campus and innovation hub) and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). SMART CAMP addresses key technology bottlenecks in cell therapy manufacturing: (i) critical quality attributes (CQA) of safe, effective cell therapy products; and (ii) integrated process analytics to monitor and modulate those attributes. Our efforts are focused on allogeneic and autologous cell therapy products, including but not limited to cell sources including adult stem/progenitor cells and immune cells for treatment of specific cancers, tissue degeneration, and autoimmune diseases.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support interdisciplinary projects focused on translating candidate safety Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) to improve the safety of cell therapy products and patient safety. He/She will work under the supervision of postdoctoral associates in SMART CAMP, with mentorship by principal investigators in Singapore and MIT. Core Requirements of the Post

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the Science Laboratory Technician will aspire to the highest standards of professionalism and will, in particular:

▪ Schedule the availability of, prepare and provide apparatus, equipment and other teaching materials as requested by the Science Teachers in the Faculty. These may include chemicals, biological material, equipment, models, and disposable material such as stationery.

▪ Assist in updating record of inventory levels and locations of backup equipment, such that end of year ordering is efficient.

▪ Assist in annual, final, stock check of all chemicals, disposable materials, glassware and other apparatus, so that new materials may be ordered.

▪ Have a complete CLEAPSS Hazcards reference for all chemicals in the prep room

▪ Ensure written Science Laboratory Technician specific Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment, apparatus and materials (as necessary) prior to their use, and writing and preparing the risk assessments as necessary.

▪ Provide CLEAPSS Hazcards every time a chemical is used in class

▪ Comply with all Health and Safety standards and regulations issued by Stamford and external agencies including NAE, IGCSE, IBO, CIS, and WASC

Technical Support (assisting others to plan for use and use equipment)

The Science Laboratory Technician will:

The Science Laboratory Technician will:

▪ Teachers can expect labs to be prepared on time if two days notice is given. Labs will be cleaned from classrooms on the day that they are noted as completed.
