Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based in independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the following core functions:

1. Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance with a particular focus on Value Based Healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Associate will have the following duties:

Purpose of the post

The successful candidate should have a strong background in both mathematical/machine learning methods and biological laboratory techniques. He or she will also be responsible for data analysis and for developing computational models, algorithms, and tools to analyse and interpret complex biological datasets derived from multi-omics data. The ideal candidate will combine a strong understanding of statistical and machine learning methods, as well as expertise in programming languages such as R and/or Python with training in biology, biochemistry or a related discipline. DESCARTES PROGRAM

The DesCartes programme is developing a hybrid AI, combining Learning, Knowledge and Reasoning, which has good properties (need for less resources and data, security, robustness, fairness, respect for privacy, ethics), and demonstrated on industrial applications of the smart city (digital energy, monitoring of structures, air traffic control).

The program brings together 80 permanent researchers (half from France, half from Singapore), with the support of large industrial groups (Thales SG, EDF SG, ESI group, CETIM Matcor, ARIA etc.).

The research will take place mainly in Singapore, at the premises of CNRS@CREATE, with a competitive salary and generous funding for missions.

DESCRIPTION

To facilitate the development of the next generation of urban systems, the DesCartes Program is currently developing a software framework that brings together AI components, physics models and data, modelization and control aspects. This framework, the DesCartes Builder, shall play an integral role in developing robust hybrid AI pipelines, as required for the design and deployment of digital twins of urban applications. As a research assistant, you will play a key role in developing the Builder:

• Craft a user-friendly interface:Design an intuitive interface that allows users to define, manipulate and execute the hybrid AI pipelines with flexibility and ease.
• Develop reusable components: Create robust and reusable libraries that will form the foundation of the DesCartes Builder framework.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The Office of Patient Engagement (OPEN) brings patient and public voices into medical research and education in LKCMedicine. OPEN works with researchers and educators to integrate patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) into their work, connecting them to patients and the community.

OPEN is seeking a motivated Research Fellow / Research Associate to play a key role in the development of PPIE programmes in the School, which will build PPIE capacity in OPEN and the LKCMedicine community.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to design, data collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative, qualitative and co-design studies

The Asian Thoracic Oncology Research Group (ATORG) was formed in 2016 to be the central coordinating platform for translational research and multi-centre clinical trials for thoracic malignancies in the Asia Pacific region. It is hosted by National Cancer Centre Singapore.

Job Description:

We are looking for one (1) Research Fellow for research activities in the following areas:

(a) Theory and computational modeling of electromagnetism in media, plasmonic systems, and metamaterials, including cavity quantum electrodynamics.

(b) Inverse design in nanophotonics or quantum nanophotonics.

(c) Application of plasma modeling tools like particle-in-cell and magnetohydrodynamics to plasmonic or excitonic systems.

(d) Study novel optoelectronic effects in low-dimensional materials and time crystals.
