About The Job
We are looking for a Research Assistant to support the Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team with various aspects of a research study.
What You Will Be Doing
The appointee will report to the PI and work closely with senior researchers and stakeholders.The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Literature review: Conducting reviews of existing literature to inform the study’s design and frame findings within the current body of knowledge.
- Data collection: Assisting in gathering data through experiments, surveys, interviews or other methodologies.
- Data management and analysis: Organizing, recording and analyzing data to ensure accuracy and relevance to research questions.
- Experiment setup and monitoring: Preparing materials, setting up study conditions and monitoring experimental processes to adhere to protocols.
- Documentation and reporting: Recording observations, maintaining accurate records and assisting in drafting reports or publications.
- Support knowledge dissemination: Assisting in preparing presentations, posters or publications to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Administrative support: Coordinating logistics such as scheduling, handling communications with participants or collaborators and managing project timelines.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the PI from time to time to meet the needs of the research project.
Job Requirements
- A degree in psychology, education, cognitive science or a related field. Diploma holders with relevant research experience may be considered.
- At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in a research role and with familiarity in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including data collection through surveys and interviews, and data analysis tools (e.g. SPSS). Fresh graduates may be considered.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous record-keeping and documentation skills, ability to engage respectfully and constructively with adult participants, ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to communicate research findings and ideas clearly, both in writing and orally.
- The successful appointee will be based at IAL located at the Lifelong Learning Institute at Paya Lebar.
