The Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore (ACTRIS) was established to meet the increasing clinical demand of using cellular therapeutics to treat various life-threatening diseases. ACTRIS’ vision is to be the national and regional Centre of Excellence for discovery, process development and manufacturing of cellular-based therapeutics across the broad spectrum of immunotherapy and regenerative medicine, encompassing both investigational and approval products for the local market. What you will be working on

1. Support production of cell-based therapy products in a GMP facility, which includes processing, product storage, shipments, sampling etc

• Demonstrate understanding and compliance in Standard Operating Systems, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
• Execute processes for cell-based therapy products manufacture while strictly adhering to GMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply
• For aseptic operations, to strictly follow aseptic techniques and practices as per relevant SOPs (e.g. cell culture, cryopreservation in bags).
• Perform QC sampling and in-process testing of the product at various stages throughout manufacturing (e.g. bioburden sampling, cell counting).
• Timely completion of relevant batch record and logbooks for the tasks performed and with adherence to GDP (Good Documentation Practice).

2. Perform routine and repetitious work within defined parameters.

3. Ensure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities and any potential safety hazardous are addressed and corrected immediately

• Follow safety and quality compliance at all times and communicate in a timely manner to the superior if any anomalies are observed.

4. Ensuring the equipment is well-maintained and in proper working conditions at all times, and that there is enough capacity to meet the production demand.

• Perform simple calibration and maintenance for all equipment
• Perform equipment qualification and validation, where required.

5. In-charge and responsible for assigned workstation or area of manufacturing.

• Carry out regular cleaning and upkeep of the equipment and classified rooms, as per relevant SOPs.

What we are looking for

A. EDUCATION, TRAINING

Minimally Diploma in Life Engineering (Chemical/Biomedical), Biotechnology, Life Sciences or equivalent. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

B. EXPERIENCE

Preferably 3 to 5 years of relevant experiences in biopharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturing industry and prior technical knowledge in batch biopharmaceutical processing will be an advantage.

Job Responsibilities

-Work with project PI to develop robust catalysts (3 or more) that convert low-quality used cooking oil to sustainable aviation fuel

-Assist in synthesis and formulation of the catalyst, and testing of the catalyst in hydroprocessing using pressurized H2 in small scale Parr reactors.

-Assist in experimental design and optimize parameters required for the lab-scale to large-scale reactions (>500g) for synthesis of the catalysts using solution and/or solid-state methodologies

-Assist in experimental design and optimize parameters required for the lab-scale to large-scale hydroprocess reactions in large-scale 1L Parr reactors.

-Perform scale-up the pre-treatment process, several litres per batch, using large-scale equipment such as the liquid-liquid extractor unit

-Characterization of the catalyst candidates using

-Presentation at regular project meetings and summarize results in reports

-Data analysis and interpretation skills

-Excellent oral/written communication

-Experience in scaled up reactions (>5 L) is preferred

The CPPS group is seeking a highly motivated senior research engineer or lead research engineer to lead and conduct R&D in Industry 5.0 smart manufacturing solutions and integrating digital technologies with AI-enabled physical production systems that promote human-centricity, environmental sustainability, and value chain resilience in manufacturing. Project Introduction: The proposed study aims to design a footwear to delay the onset of knee osteoarthritis (OA), based on previous data collected for high-risk/early OA in the general population. In a Singapore Burden of Disease Study completed in 2014, osteoarthritis is the fifth main reason for years of life lost to disability, ill-health or early death. This could reduce societal costs in the long term with possible early intervention. This project theme of the proposed study aligns with the Government’s knee osteoarthritis healthcare initiatives as well as with the focus of ‘Health and Society’, one of the NTU’s peaks of research excellence. This project is in support of NTU's Health & Society vision to address Singapore's ageing population from the perspectives of population health and community wellness.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably relating to industrial and product design or equivalent.
• Possess good work experience in prototype development, especially using additive manufacturing.
• Experience in research, preferably in the area of rehabilitation and health.
• Well-versed with design software such as the Rhinoceros 3D software.
• Scientific writing ability (e.g. book chapters, journal manuscripts, etc).
