About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Local IFRS Accounting & Project Management team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with IFRS 17, RCP and be part of the FPSL implementation which will shape the future financial accounting and reporting operating model.
As a Senior IFRS Business Analyst working on the local IFRS 17 RCP accounting and closing, you will work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Accounting and Actuarial Business Experts, Business Analysts and Developers. The team will be responsible for the RCP execution, producing technical results, and substantiating calculations within RCP, including technically validating these calculations. Additionally, the team will assist local entities with the review and close process.
You will act as a role model, contribute to discussions, bring insights, and constructively challenge others to achieve the best possible outcomes. As an important part of your mandate, you will work with different teams to promote automation and process simplification opportunities that address our highest priority pain-points.
You will be working with external consultants on local IFRS calculation engine, comparing results across external engine, Stargate and FPSL.
You will decide and act with a degree of autonomy in practice areas with the delegated authorities.
Key responsibilities include:
· Contribute to local IFRS deliveries to local teams, focusing specifically on Australian entities, and support them throughout the delivery process
· Support the review of the Account Balance Adjustments for the Australian entities
· Provide technical valuation expertise and support
· Support end-to-end integration testing in the new RCP environment for IFRS 17 Local runs
· Implementation and testing of the business requirements for local IFRS in FPSL
· Work closely with other functions, including Risk Management Actuarial, Local Finance, FP&A, IT, etc.
About You:
· Senior professional with 10+ years of experience in re/insurance
· Existing knowledge of IFRS17 and the local IFRS calculation engine (RCP) is an advantage
· Curious, open-minded, passionate self-starter who takes initiatives.
· Understanding of the methods of calculating policy liabilities and embedded values. US GAAP financial reporting and solid understanding of market consistent valuation methods is preferred
· Teamwork – Ability to build working relationships across technical fields and effectively collaborate across various functions
· Capable of managing a personal workload amid multiple priorities, pressure and tight deadlines. Open to seeking advice from the wider team as needed
· Proactive and able to demonstrate keen enthusiasm in learning and developing existing knowledge
· Strong communication skills, including being capable of presenting results to/discussing results with internal interested parties and senior partners.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required
