(A) Principle duties and responsibilities

· Manage, supervise and lead the compliance team, setting clear objectives and providing ongoing training

· Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other applicable regulatory bodies.

· Monitor, keep abreast and interpret changes in regulations, laws and industry practices that may impact the business and communicate such changes to the relevant stakeholders and staff

(B) Governance and Reporting

· Participate in client classification, risk rating, KYC and transaction monitoring. Familiarity with regulatory requirements of AML and CFT and other applicable laws and regulations

· Serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related matters within the organisation and act as the liaison with regulatory bodies and external auditors (including liaising with regulators on matters arising from AML/KYC/CFT)

· Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including MAS reports, FATCA/CRS and ensure accurate and timely compliance with regulatory deadlines

(C) Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

· Review the client onboarding documentation, due diligence checks, and enterprise-wide risk assessment.

· Perform transaction monitoring activities, identify, investigate, and escalate any irregularities as part of the monitoring process.

· Conduct compliance and anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism training to all employees.

· Perform any additional duties or participate in ad-hoc projects assigned by the Head of Legal and Risk from time to time.

The role

About the team

The Product team at Airwallex is a group of passionate builders and problem-solvers who are obsessed with crafting customer-centric solutions that empower businesses to operate anywhere, anytime. Responsibilities:

• As Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading high-impact projects from ideation to launch on topics
• Creating more delightful user experiences for businesses when they set up, monitor, and operate their online stores with Airwallex online payments
• Building robust clearing and settlement mechanisms that ensure businesses have full visibility over their expected cash flow and protect Airwallex from financial risks
• Improving Airwallex's reporting capabilities to streamline reconciliation processes for businesses and allowing them to fully optimize the online payments operations

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• 6 to 12 years of overall professional experience
• Experience in product management, go-to-market propositions, product design, product planning and development
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline
• Evidence of exemplary academic achievements (e.g. high GPA, Dean's list, scholarship etc.)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey product strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Close attention to detail, ability to structure complex problems and inform decisions with data and first-principle insights
• Drive, grit, and persistence to take ownership and move ideas to reality in short periods of time
• Ability to thrive in cross-cultural and cross-functional teams
• Experience considering both user requirements and commercial strategy in order to drive meaningful product growth
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: hyper growth startup environments, software engineering, financial technology
• Solid technical understanding and ability to engage in architectural discussions with engineering teams
• Hands-on with online payments or similar B2B domains with high conceptual complexity

What you'll do:

As a Senior Fund Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the firm's operations. Your responsibilities will span across various aspects of investment operations, from managing relationships with service providers to handling daily trade processing and reconciliation. You will also be involved in fund accounting and client reporting. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the planning and implementation of automation initiatives within the firm.

• Manage and review relationships with service providers such as custodians, brokers, fund administrators etc.
• Handle daily trade processing and reconciliation, follow up on settlement issues primarily in equities
• Oversee corporate actions and cash flow management, prepare payment instructions to fund and firm vendors.
• Perform fund accounting (equalization), review daily, weekly and monthly NAV reports
• Assist in fund and firm audits
• Provide risk management, compliance & regulatory support
• Coordinate new fund launches, liaise with service providers for legal documentation and connecting trading and portfolio systems
• Undertake general office administration tasks

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Fund Operations Manager role brings a wealth of experience in investment operations along with strong leadership skills. You are detail-oriented, resourceful, and proficient in Microsoft Excel. Your understanding of equities and related derivative products sets you apart. You possess excellent communication skills and can comfortably work under tight daily deadlines. Japanese language skills at a business level would be an added advantage.

• Degree in a relevant course such as Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics
• At least 5 years of experience in any area of investment operations, with some years in a leadership position.
• Detail-oriented and resourceful approach to work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Japanese language skills at business level would be advantageous
• Good understanding of equities and related derivative products
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under tight daily deadlines
