We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Advisor / Senior Advisor to join Hogan Lovells. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our Asia Pacific and global Marketing & Business Development ("M&BD") teams to support all aspects of the business development and marketing activities of the Corporate and Finance practice groups (Private Equity, Investment Funds, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects, Banking & Finance and Restructuring & Special Situations).
As a key member of our Asia Pacific M&BD team, the successful candidate will work with lawyers in our 4 Southeast Asia offices (Singapore, Jakarta, Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh) to deliver on business plan priorities and revenue generating activities. This is a hands-on role and offers the opportunity for involvement in pitching, event organisation, internal and external communications, practice & client relationship development initiatives.
The role will also work with lawyers and M&BD colleagues in our Tokyo, Greater China offices (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong), relevant global practice and sector leads and other teams and international offices as required to broaden key client relationships and help to deliver on cross-office & cross-practice initiatives for the C&F practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Pitches, proposals and capability statements: Collaborate with partners and the M&BD team to manage all aspects of the proposal process, supporting the business requirements of the Southeast Asia offices. This includes drafting the content, conducting briefing meetings, and facilitating post-pitch debrief sessions, etc.
· Experience Capture and Information Maintenance: Work closely with lawyers and M&BD team members to draft and update matter experience and add it to the firm's Experience Database.
· Directory and Award Submissions: Draft and coordinate submissions and interviews for legal directories, league tables, awards, and other surveys to enhance the firm’s reputation and visibility.
· Marketing Collateral Management: Maintain and update a comprehensive suite of marketing materials, including office and practice area profiles, lawyers' profiles, etc.
· Event/Webinar Plan and Management: Plan, organise and manage a broad range of events/webinars such as roundtables, client seminars, conferences, social receptions, ensuring they meet strategic objectives.
· External Communications and Profile Raising: Work closely with lawyers, M&BD team and comms team, to produce client-facing communications, including deal press release, client alerts, etc. Leverage digital platforms such as LinkedIn, X, to enhance client engagement and the firm’s external profile in particular in Southeast Asia region.
· M&BD Initiatives: Support and implement regional and local M&BD initiatives,
· Administration support: Provide general administrative assistance to regional M&BD team and partners to ensure smooth operations.
What we are looking for
· Communication and writing - Excellent command of English (native-level preferred), with the ability to draft high-quality, client-focused content and communicate complex ideals clearly and succinctly.
· Attention to details – Outstanding proofreading and editing skills, ensuring all the materials are error-free and meeting professional standards.
· Organisation and time management - Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and deliver to tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Proactive problem-solving skills with a "can do" attitude and a strong sense of teamwork.
· Proven discretion and trust in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
· Technical proficiency - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Willingness and ability to learn new systems, including digital marketing systems, client management systems and other database systems.
· Event and project management – experiences in coordinating events and managing projects from inception to execution, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in business administration, marketing or law.
· A minimum of 5 years’ of experience in business development and marketing, preferably in a professional services environment.
