About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI/ML expert with a combination of Engineering/Applied Research experience to help us develop our foundational logical reasoning AI system. You will have worked in AI/ML for several years to have experienced, researched/applied different neural network architectures to various problems (e.g. natural language, vision, graphs, symbolic, formal domains), using several model training and optimization techniques (e.g. value models, reinforcement learning, search strategies), and across modalities (text, audio, video). A strong track record in graphs (graph theory, GNNs, GraphML, etc.), and ML-based code synthesis and/or validation will be invaluable. We are especially keen on candidates who have applied ML to real-world physical/materials/etc. engineering applications/use cases – either directly as a full-time or even as an expert consultant across industries/domains.

Key responsibilities

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor based on Yb-Ba ions. • Takes the lead in identifying quality improvements and establish objectives to implement them
• Develop PLC programming for Industrial Automation systems
• Work with Sales team on conceptual design
• Conduct program debugging and test run
• Update project schedule for programming, debugging, test run and installation
• Lead software design contractors on design, test run and installation
• Discuss and solve complex software related problems with customers and contractors

Job Requirement

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Positive work attitude, willing to put in extra effort during peak period
• Strong communications skills
• Design experience in similar capacity, preferably in industrial Automation and Robotic Systems added advantage
• Working knowledge of PLC & PC Programming Languages
• Able to work under tight schedule and under minimal supervision

IT Infrastructure Support:

• Provide Level 1 technical support to end user, including software & network problem
• Deployment of new computer, including installation of software to end user
• Create & maintain end user account (AD & Email)
• Co-ordinate with external vendor for support
• Involve with infrastructure project & setting up new site office
• Responsible for new staff orientation briefing
• Provide onsite support to end user
• Ad-Hoc duties/task as per assigned

General:

• Create and maintain documentation on technical problem.
• Procurement of IT hardware and software
• Update & maintain IT inventory
• Disposal of IT hardware

Requirements:

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma / Advanced Diploma in IT
• Min. 2 years of experience or relevant working experience. Preferable with desktop support experience
• Basic Active Directory, Networking & MS365 skill. Candidate with Server, Hyper-V & Firewall knowledge is a plus point
• Good Knowledge on Microsoft Product
• Travel to various location around Singapore
• Able to work independent & multitask
