Position Details:
Reporting to the Director, Global Marine Operations, the Operations Support Analyst is responsible for understanding system-based Operations work processes and owning the resolution of any process gaps. The Analyst is expected to resolve transactional process and system issues within the IMOS system, deliver training to voyage coordinators to reinforce processes, refine processes when needed, manage relevant documentation, and work collaboratively with the BI & IT organizations to design, manage, and deliver system-based solutions where appropriate. The Analyst will also act as vacation backup for Voyage Coordinators. The primary internal stakeholders for this role are Marine Operations, Marine Chartering, Freight Services, Marine F&PA, and Commercial Schedulers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Own and manage all Marine Operations system based work process, most notably IMOS transactional processes. This activity includes understanding both the system and work processes, understanding process/Veslink errors, and recommending permanent fixes.
• Resolve errors related to data submissions to/from external and internal systems designed for Marine operational use (ex. IMOS, Veslink Support, SEDNA)
• Act as substitute/vacation relief for Voyage Coordinators.
• Manage Delivery/Re-delivery process of Time Charter assets.
• Manage and participate in On-Call Incident Response Duty.
• Own transactional relationship with Hub Agents. Work with Voyage Coordinators and Director, Global Marine Operations to ensure KPI issues are addressed and promote a high level of service from these companies.
• Lead testing efforts for system upgrades, including building workplan and schedule, onboarding testers, assessing results, working system fixes with vendor, and managing implementation activities.
• Act as subject matter expert resource for Marine F&PA and Freight Services (Accounting). Address SAP/IMOS interface issues and resolve through training and system design.
• Assist as needed in projects within the Marine Strategy area.
• Work on other continuous improvement projects (ex. IMOS, SEDNA) as required.
Basic / Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong systems aptitude
• Strong analytical skills
• Effective problem solving skills
• Strong facilitation, planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with preference for action, accountability, and developing alternatives.
Preferred:
• Basic understanding of Commercial and Marine business processes
• System/scenario modeling experience
• Prior experience in Marine Operations
• IT Business Analyst experience
• Proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau tools
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information into specific, measurable and actionable items.
