Job Description

How you’ll be contributing to our Engineering team:

• Help us take Wise to the next level as we scale to impact 100's of millions more customers. You'll hide away all complexities under the hood of our product and build seamless experiences for our customers
• Working on the core flow of Wise, you'll ensure our customers get the best experience even when things don’t go as planned by building self service solutions, automating the resolution and building efficient tooling for our Operations team.
• Create clear and helpful interfaces, whilst maintaining consistency, maintainability, performance and an understanding of what problems our customers might encounter along the way
• Take initiative to identify and solve important problems. Coordinates with others on cross-cutting technical issues
• Drive product improvement that impacts the Wise customer experience or empowers internal stakeholders (teams like Operations, Customer Support, Finance, etc.) to do their job effectively
• Proactively identify and tackle technical debt becoming too big through planning work and aligning the team. Does this with careful evaluation of additional cost on development

Qualifications

What does it take?:

• You have great communication skills and can articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
• You enjoy writing testable code and believe in Test Driven Development
• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
• You provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
• You have solid Java 13 plus knowledge and experience with Spring framework
• You have front end experience with one of JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or other
• You have experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schema
• You are familiar with Continuous Delivery Approach mindset

Some extra skills that would be great:

• You have solid Java 13 plus knowledge and experience with Spring framework
• You have experience with financial systems
• You have knowledge of PostgreSQL, advanced types and query features

• You’ll have onboarded and found your place through understanding your team and tribe vision and how you can contribute
• Understanding the Wise domain (Fintech) and team specific domain (the problems they’re solving form, intricacies of the domains) (50+ eng teams, all have different domain specific topics, they’re grouped in tribes e.g. Crime Fighting (Fraud, AML), but they’re very different)

Job Summary:

Selected candidates will get the opportunity to work as Innovation Electronic Engineer on the design and production of our Next Generation subsea robotics products.

We are transitioning from our industry standard, human operated, hydraulic underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) towards a highly autonomous ROV supervised from one of our remote operating centres.

The innovation electronic engineer will work in a team of experienced engineers on the ROV control system, working closely together with oversees R&D centres, internal production teams and global operational teams.

Development of Control system includes:

• Microcontroller, digital, analog, high speed circuitry design from conceptual to working product.
• Simple software programming in the area of peripheral configuration, device driver, test program to facilitate hardware validation.
• Liaise with production department to ensure products are manufactured to the highest quality standard.
• Travel to any part of the world in short notice to provide system support, integration, commissioning and training.

Requirements:

• Proficient in English. Written and spoken.
• Local polytechnic diploma, bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering.
• Able to perform analog, digital and PCB design with Altium.
• Able to produce isometrix projection drawing in Acad.
• Knowledge in signal integrity and high-speed PCB design.

We are looking for Software Engineer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits and will work with Creative’s engineers to design and build our mobile applications that will be the enabling software for Creative’s range of audio products. You will undertake development work on Android and iOS applications to support Creative’s audio products. You need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features and support new products. You have to unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability and robustness. You are required to adopt automated testing to improve productivity and software quality. You must work on bug fixing and improving application performance. Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or its equivalent.

SoW

• Setup network topology (e.g. cabling, config) for testing
• Installation and setup of routers and servers
• Handling of equipment logistics (packing and unpacking) in and out of lab

Operation (Maintenance)

• Provide technical services to the maintenance and troubleshooting of the Electronic Queue Management System.
• Attend and carry out Fault Finding and Diagnosis of systems breakdowns, both on a mechanical and electrical basis, with a focus on providing high levels of service and response times.
• Follow Preventive Maintenance work schedules to specified standards and procedures and maintain all relevant written records.
• Maintain records of all breakdowns and repairs allowing for analysis and compliance with ISO standards.

Project Implementation

• Collaborate with vendors to implement project enhancements.

• Perform independently with minimal supervision and work with others developing trusting relationships.
• Maintain strict adherence to internal policies and internal controls within organization.

• Report any delays and initiate plans and alternative solutions.

Scheduled Monthly Standby Duties

• Answer all service request phone calls during scheduled standby duties.
• Attend to the fault call issues and follow SOP in attending to all the calls.
• Handover the tasks to the respective engineers who is on duty the next day.
• Support project adhoc activities (e.g. testing, deployment, commissioning).

• Relevant experience in electrical installation and electrical maintenance is an advantage.
