Role & Responsibilities:
Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position):
As part of the Global Materials Supply (GMS) Team, The Senior Materials Manager will lead the GMS TNF Fabric team that services TNF Global and Regional fabric sourced through the Asia Sourcing Office in Asia Region. With a team of approximately 10 associates based in 5 different countries, the individual is responsible for driving the TNF Material Sourcing strategy and managing an efficient material supply model that ensures quality, cost and timely delivery of all raw material. The leader is responsible for building and developing a cohesive materials team across countries that maximizes “One VF” scale in leverage through analytics and brings a procurement mindset to the organization. The role has extensive focus to operationally connect with Brands, Sourcing, Costing, Quality, Finance, and Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability organizations and Suppliers. Creating synergy, agility by having frequent communication and team works with functional leaders in Singapore strategic hub is required. The Senior Materials Manager is viewed as a key thought partner to GMS Director to help build an innovative and creative solutions culture to the region and to solve complex material supply issues.
Key Result Areas:
Material Sourcing Strategy
· Map and drive long- and short-term Asia material supply strategy execution plan for TNF factoring in footprint movements, supply models, lead times, profitability, sustainable materials, brand and sourcing needs
- Work cross-functionally in selection of regional and local suppliers and materials that support material and manufacturing strategies and Product Development objectives.
Operation Excellence
Delivery Management - Ensure reliable delivery of material on time for production by working closely with material suppliers and GMS Planning team.
Quality Management
· Lead the quality issue investigation of root cause, implement mitigation action and liability settlement to all material related quality cases.
· Drive resolution of Material quality issues in collaboration with Brand, Sourcing and Quality teams.
Cost Management
· Rationalize the seasonal negotiation overall target and determining individual supplier targets for in person negotiation mills.
· Establish annual material cost savings targets, review and alignment of Cost guidance and final cost with leadership
Material Development and GTM Calendar Operation
· Act as the key liaison for Product Development leadership in TNF and Sourcing leadership for all material supply related topics.
· Create the needed exceptional processes for Innovation projects to ensure all business expectations are met with brand material team and cross functional teams
· Optimize the GTM calendar process. Drive alignment with cross function and brands to monitor the discipline and execution on Material related milestone is on track
Supplier Management
· Report and monitor supplier performance by using SPM for active performance management.
· Responsible for managing and owning supplier relationship and building supplier partnerships
· Influence suppliers to build innovative solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, agility, lead-time for the best fulfillment of business needs
Compliance and Sustainability
· Drive suppliers to comply with Compliance and Sustainability initiatives to ensure VF standards and requirements are met within the group’s material supply.
· Actively support and execute sustainable material roadmaps through identification of supplier capabilities, capacities and innovative sustainable alternatives
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Suppliers.
· Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams. Drive and influence the collaboration and create synergy to ensure the right support and create success to the business.
Team Leadership
- Develop a high performing team - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of material managers and sourcing specialists.

Experience
Minimum Relevant Experience:
10 years of experience with 3 years of managerial experience.
Experience in Apparel, Footwear, Equipment and/or Sourcing and Supply Chain organizations
Minimum Supervisory Experience:
Proven record of leading teams
