Job descriptions:

• Inspects welded joints and conducts tests to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job specifications.
• Records inspection and test results and prepares and submits reports to welding engineering personnel.
• Communicate with retained weld engineer on welding issues, and processes when necessary.
• Communicate with customer’s weld engineering department.
• Tracking and maintaining welding procedures and CWB binders.
• Manage welding procedures and ensure welders are qualified and approved for corresponding welding procedures for various jobs

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a heavy fabrication environment.
• Practical and theoretical proficiency with Carbon Arc-gauging; SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes. Experienced in developing process routings for large welded fabrications.
• Familiar with PQR development and testing final WPS implementation.

Key Job Accountabilities (Actual daily deliverables):

• Examine photographic pictures and other photographic equipment for defects or faulty operation to determine course of action required to satisfy customer quality
• Review unresolved requests for adjustment of complaints and reads customer comments to determine basis of complaint and plan of action needed to resolve complaint.
• Determine cause of defect and alert process and equipment owners for correction and preventive actions or suggest remedies to prevent subsequent errors in processing.
• Prepare reports indicating complaints handled and dispositions made.
• Suggest and execute improvement projects for quality, cycletime and cost improvement

Required Experience and Qualifications (Required knowledge, skills and experience---however acquired):

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant experience in wafer bumping or wafer fabrication an added advantage
• Be able to perform 12 hours rotating shift

Key Responsibilities

• Establish process conditions through scientific moulding for existing/new products

• Troubleshoot moulding processes and material or equipment issues

• Evaluate tooling for areas of concern, areas of improvement for quality and efficiency, and recommend improvements to optimize moulding, set up, and overall manufacturing

• Collect and analyse data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability

• Document and maintain Mold process sheets for accuracy

• Support process technicians through training in scientific moulding practices

• Leadership role in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities

• Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other techniques to analyze process data to determine capabilities as well as improvements

• Manage projects, and ensure all tooling is executed smoothly and efficiently against an agreed plan

• Perform evaluation and development activities to provide solutions for technical problems to sustain and improve production yield, quality, process cycle time and cost reduction

• Lead team in problem-solving – identification of problems and analysis of the root cause

• Conduct proof of concept (POC) evaluation and design of experiments (DOE) during development, establish baseline process and metrics

• Lead design of experiments (DOE) to establish a stable and robust process that can be handed off to production personnel •

Requirement

• Diploma in Engineering or Sciences

• Min. 5 years’ experience in plastic injection moulding environment

• Experience in process capability studies and tooling technical incline is a plus
