Your responsibilities as a Salvage Engineer

• As part of the mobile team, provide support to the Salvage Master/Project Manager at site.

We are seeking a dynamic Junior Data Engineer to join our Regional Data team to help foodpanda make smart, data-driven business decisions. We maintain data ingestion pipelines while creating and maintaining products and frameworks to empower teams to craft insights and build quality data products.

Responsibilities

• Architecting, defining, and building data pipelines to enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making.
• Ingesting first and third-party data sources into our petabyte-sized data warehouse.
• Curating and maintaining high-quality data assets so our data scientists and analysts can make informed decisions and create better products.
• Creating and maintaining tools that enable data consumers to use our data better.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data assets.

Position Summary

You are responsible to assist Snr Engineers and/or Project Manager in production, assembly, design and development of hardware and equipment the Company’s products. The job also involves sourcing of components, participating in technical design, assisting the Snr. Engineers and/or Project Manager in budgeting, scheduling, management of contractors, and installation, deployment and maintenance of the products in an operational environment (on-site when required).

Main Responsibilities

• System set-up; troubleshooting, resolution of anomalies discovered in equipment and methods, provision of assistance in maintenance service
• Installation of equipment room racking, servers and UPS. cable works for power and communication
• Installation and maintanance of electrical and Instrument equipment
• Installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of operating systems, application software and system management tools. Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and security.
• Assistance in managing and monitoring all systems and infrastructure.
• Under the guidance of a Snr. System Engineer or Project Manager, collation of information on hardware systems, costs of development, work program and technical specification
• Participation in the development and testing process, systems testing and commissioning
• Provision of support of design and installation of ‘turnkey’ and / or ‘user-defined’ system
• Sourcing and identification of suppliers for evaluation
• Conduct of preliminary assessment on systems requirement of the clients and matching with components recommended by sub-contractors
• Provision of assistance in systems deployment, system implementation and / or installation
• Performance of corrective, preventive maintenance work in-house or at customer site (on-site)
• Implementation of enhancement/upgrades as instructed
• Preparation of documentation and logistics support where necessary
• Travelling maybe required from time to time

Skills and Experience

· Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in electrical and electronic system set-up, installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance

· Strong debugging skills

· Strong team work as well as able to work independently

Salary Range

· SGD 3.0k – SGD 4.5k

- Degree in Computer Science/ Computer System Engineering/ Computer System & Networks/ IT informatics;

- Report to IT Manager or Technical Director;

- Conduct operation and maintenance on the existing IT web-based System, coordinate with project team and system owner for planning security testing, system bug fixes and possible system improvement or upgrading;

- IT asset / commercial software licenses tracking and setting of IT equipment for HQ and site offices;

- Work closely with third party vendor to ensure system stabilities and IT security, conduct regular preventive maintenance;

- Responsible to manage and maintain the project system including troubleshooting;

- Able to work independently as well as co-operate with project team to ensure the project is running smoothly;

- Familiar with programming language, Postgre SQL/MS SQL Database, commercial cloud system and GCC Cloud is an advantage

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Flowdesk, you will be at the heart of our infrastructure operations, ensuring that our global high-frequency trading platform runs smoothly and efficiently. 

Reporting to Flowdesk's Lead of Infrastructure and collaborating closely with the Engineering, Trading, and Data teams, your role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing our systems' reliability and performance

Your mission will be to

• Monitor and optimize our network infrastructure to ensure peak performance and minimal downtime.
• Implement and manage robust monitoring solutions (using tools like Prometheus and Grafana) that proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Maintain critical infrastructures, ensuring reliability security, scalability, and performance of the company’s essential systems, such as Nats, the ultra-low latency networking stack, cloud infrastructures, data pipelines, and more.
• Develop the in-house MPC (Multi-party Computation) infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with the team to design and refine disaster recovery plans that minimize risk and ensure rapid recovery during incidents.
• Engage with Flowdesk's teams to understand their needs and provide technical support and solutions that enhance their operational capabilities.
• Propose and implement system improvements and innovative solutions to enhance performance and reliability.

Background and experience

• 5+ years of experience
• Fluency in English (French is a plus).
• Proven track record in managing and securing high-availability systems in highly sensitive environments.
• Experience with network and system monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and similar technologies.
• Strong background in implementing and managing incident response strategies and disaster recovery plans.
• Skilled in system automation and scripting (Python, Bash), with a solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools for CI/CD (FluxCD, GitHub Actions).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Organized and methodical approach to work, with the capability to prioritize urgent tasks and meet deadlines.
• A strong interest in continuous learning and applying new technologies and concepts to improve system performance and reliability.
