Evaluate new network solutions beneficial to the bank, developing network architecture and design
suitable for deployment into production environment.
Leads as the subject matter expert, to design, plan and deploy the right functional technical solution
accordance with the specification and service levels of business and/or system requirements.
Designing, implementing, and supporting solutions involving, but not limited to, SD WAN, WAN,
LAN, WLAN, Security and Virtual (e.g., SDN, NFV) technologies.

Job Requirements
degree in IT or closely related field with min. 5 years of experience in managing a team of

Job Description:

• Be a subject matter expert on databases, particularly on Relational Databases, able to discuss with customer on database modelling, migration, performance testing and day to day operations

• Have wide ranging experience with open source and commercial databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle & SQL Server…etc

• Be familiar with major cloud service providers in using it for deployment of workloads (AWS, Alicloud, GCP, Azure…etc)

• Be a technical expert on all aspects of OceanBase (compatibility assessment, deployment, administration, development, migration…etc)

• Facilitate introduction, discussion and demonstration of OceanBase’s technology, vision and value proposition either via individual or group sessions with customers

• Engage and discover prospects’ pain points, business/technical challenges and identify how OceanBase can add value

• Run Proof of Concept projects with customers to validate OceanBase’s capabilities Support post sale OceanBase implementation with OceanBase delivery team

• Maintain deep understanding of competitive as well as complementary technologies and how to position OceanBase DB in relation to them

• Provide guidance on how to resolve customer-specific technical challenges

• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve OceanBase product and position in the market

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.

• Passion and energy to strive in a dynamic, disruptive, fast pace and energetic environment.

• Strong communication skills and adaptability, be able to communicate with customer independently, understand customer requirement and propose technical solution.

• More than 5 years’ experience working with customers in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role. Ideally, 2+ years as a solution architect at an established database technology company or company with mature cloud DB offering

• Database Administrator or Architect prior experience preferred

• Able to write, analyse and optimize SQL, in particular MySQL and/or Oracle databases

• Familiarity with mainstream database products, including Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, Amazon Aurora, Google Spanner, and proficiency in at least one of them. Experience in one or more public cloud environment.

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams including direct and channel marketing, solution architect teams, product management and account management teams

• Willingness and ability to travel for work, role covers ASEAN and beyond

• Excellent proficiency with English. Chinese and/or additional ASEAN language(s) is a bonus but not required.

• Bonus: Application development experience in major languages (e.g. Java, Python, NodeJS, .NET…etc)

Job Description:

• Work closely with customers on understanding technical and business requirements, and craft the architectural design to fulfil the requirements
• Propose technical solution, tool and technology that influence management decision for customer requirement and project.
• Doing hands-on design, delivery and coding whenever needed to deliver projects
• Design and develop common services and frameworks.
• Defines module, task and sub-task of designed feature.
• Provide workload estimation of customization, feature, component and task levels.
• Write software requirement specification.
• Write software detailed design specification.
• Forecast, inform risk/concern on task, team or project level and propose mitigation plans.
• Support, investigate, and propose solution/workaround and bug fix for production issue.
• Code review, coach and influence team for high-quality best-practice clean and secure code.
• Actively support relevant teams during the pre-sales phase, which includes but not limit to technical analysis, technical feasibility analysis, solution design, POC design and development, etc

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent with at least 8 years’ experience and 3 years’ experience in Solution architect role
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-driven and independent
• Good knowledge exposure to public cloud services (Azure, AWS), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Good knowledge exposure in Relational, NoSQL databases, and object storage (S3)

Some experience with or good knowledge in the following will be advantageous:

• Good understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture
• Familiar with Embedded systems
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and judgment with strong attention to detail.
• Good team player who is open to sharing knowledge and possesses strong analytical skills

Project Delivery

• Provide technical leadership in medium complexity project(s) independently.
• Define system-level application architecture that includes high-level design, architectural policies and principles, design and programming guidelines, implementation risks and mitigation measures, software development and integration strategies, software configuration controls, etc.
• Maintain control over the architecture throughout the entire software development lifecycle by continuously making critical adjustments to the architecture to ensure desired results are achieved.
• Involve in requirement analysis phase to ensure the implementation feasibility of functional specifications. Highlight requirement gaps, disproportional construction efforts, technical challenges and any other issues to business analyst teams.
• Develop the Technical Design Specification (TDS) independently.
• Provide technical leadership in the project through established design and development methodologies, to ensure system meets functional and system requirements.
• Engage customers to explain the rationale of architecture’s selection, or other technical issues.
• Ensure best practices, frameworks and re-useable components are employed in the project.
• Trouble-shoot technical problems faced by the project team.

Organisation Development

• Coach, train and mentor Associate Architects.
• Share technology knowledge with the rest of organisation through Community of Practice (CoPs) or other in-house forums.
• Package and conduct technical courses.
• Contribute to knowledge repository on experience learnt through project implementation.

Business Development

• Be involved in pre-sales solution activities to review technical solution and estimated effort prepared by proposal team.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have/ Be

• Typically 4 - 5 years’ experience in technical role with responsibilities that apply in-depth knowledge of architectural principles and design.
• Experience in developing and deploying medium scalable production applications on Cloud/PaaS platforms and Containers
• Working knowledge of DevOps software development tools and methodologies.
• Broad and deep knowledge in current IT technologies.
• Proficiency in Java-related technology specification and standards.
• Certification in appropriate technologies is an advantage.
• Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques.
• Ability to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field, or IT equivalent.
• Able to travel as required
