Job Description

One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (will) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on reinforcement learning control and learning-based control, which leverage the advantages of both deep learning and conventional controls with theoretical guarantees. The RE will develop AI-assisted planning and control algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous operations and multi-agent collaborations. Hardware experiments will be carried out to test and demonstrate the applications of the developed algorithms.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The research project involves (1) theoretical research in control, learning, and optimization, (2) developing new control and learning algorithms, and (3) 3D Simulations and real hardware experiments.

The candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable university, with expertise in control theory, reinforcement learning theory, and aerial robotics.

A successful candidate should have a solid mathematical background (such as in calculus, linear algebra, ODE/PDE, optimization, real analysis, probability theory, stochastic process, etc). Strong publication records in leading journals and conferences, and practical hands-on experience in applying reinforcement learning to real robotics applications (e.g., autonomous driving and unmanned aerial vehicles) will be a big plus.

Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in either Electrical Engineering or strictly related (e.g., Mathematics, Computer, Communication, Mechanical, or Information Engineering).
• Have research experiences in control, reinforcement learning, distributed optimization, multi-agent, autonomous driving, and/or UAVs.

As the Research Engineer (Equipment/Operations), you are directly involved in tool installation activities for semiconductor process tools. You would need to work proactively to coordinate with the contractor on the ground for the execution and take corrective and preventive actions of lessons learned, due diligently to prevent reoccurrence. You are responsible for performing utilities turn-on after installation is completed. You must perform the activities per ASTAR site procedure and safety policies to ensure all tool-install-related activities are completed, meeting safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements. What can you expect?

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at NetVirta, you will be an integral part of our DevOps team. You’ll be responsible for driving the company IT infrastructure forward, improving reliability of our cloud platforms, as well as developing and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and administrate AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters
• Build, test, and deploy highly scalable, available, and reliable cloud-native applications using industry recommended practices and tools.
• Containerization(Kubernetes, Docker) troubleshooting and support tasks
• Linux servers troubleshooting and support tasks
• Communicating with both developers and non-technical stakeholders of the organization's cloud footprint.
• Maintaining cloud components to maximize their uptime and performance and minimize their cost
• Ensuring our systems are compliant with our internal IT security policy and aligned with GDPR and HIPAA standards
• Monitoring and periodically applying the latest security patches and software updates

The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), part of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), is looking for a research specialist to work on integrated quantum photonics. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of researchers developing integrated photonics devices for quantum technologies, including superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs), nonlinear/quantum photonic components based on thin-film lithium niobate, and heterogeneously integrated functional devices.
