As a Software Engineer for Private Equity & Real Estate Technology, you will be part of a dynamic team of full-stack engineers in designing, building, deploying, testing, and supporting applications and related services hosted on AWS. Collaborating with business stakeholders, you will drive business value while ensuring the delivery of high-quality code. You’ll tackle a variety of problems from scaling out infrastructure to promoting business efficiency through automating business processes. You’ll devise elegant solutions to Blackstone's most important problems and put your own best ideas to work in an entrepreneurial environment inside one of the world's most successful companies.
Our internal applications leverage a highly scalable microservices architecture deployed on cloud-hosted containerized environment. Key technologies in our stack include NextJS/React, FastAPI, Python, C#, Terraform, SQL, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Function, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins), and data warehouse solutions like Snowflake.
Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining software solutions using languages such as Python, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL, ensuring high code quality, scalability, reliability, and security.
Creating, deploying, and maintaining APIs and microservices to integrate with front-end and third-party applications.
Writing automated unit, integration, and deployment tests to ensure software quality.
Building cloud-native solutions using AWS, Terraform, and Docker focusing on scalability and robustness.
Utilizing standard CI/CD tooling, such as GitLab and Jenkins, to automate deployment of application code across different environments.
Building, supporting, and integrating with applications, microservices, and data pipelines on various platforms.
Embracing an inner-source approach and culture to enhance collaboration within the organization.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and applications, following Agile methodologies and utilizing tools like JIRA.
Mentoring junior developers, contributing to a positive team culture, and being open to learning from senior engineers.
Automating deployments using GitLab and Jenkins in coordination with Platform and DevOps engineers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
1+ years of software engineering experience, with proficiency in C# and/or Python
Experience working with databases (relational and/or NoSQL) and cloud technologies (preferably AWS), is highly desirable.
Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and containerization technologies like Docker.
Understanding of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum, and ability to manage projects from start to finish.
Deep understanding of RESTful API design, development, and scalable microservice architectures.
Ability to develop scalable, secure, and maintainable code with strong object-oriented programming experience.
Eager to learn, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, are essential.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, willing to teach, mentor others, and learn new technologies.
