Job Summary

We seek an experienced and motivated Software Quality Engineer to join our forward-thinking tech team. In this role, you'll ensure our platform is reliable and meets high-quality standards. This position allows you to work across teams, shaping and implementing advanced QA processes that support scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions

Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning

- Define and lead comprehensive QA strategies, covering all phases of the software development lifecycle.

- Develop, manage, and execute manual and automated test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure thorough testing.

Automation and Tooling

- Lead the development of automated testing frameworks using Cypress, Playwright or any automation tool for end-to-end test coverage.

- Drive platform scalability by implementing performance and load tests using tools like Gatling, K6, or Jmeter.

Quality Assurance

- Perform contract testing to ensure smooth interaction between microservices.

- Lead regression testing efforts for bug fixes and new features to maintain overall quality.

- Oversee the end-to-end testing pipeline, resolving issues promptly to avoid any delays.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to meet project requirements and deliver high-quality software.

- Contribute to agile team processes, including sprint planning and other ceremonies, with valuable QA insights.

- Coordinate with QE teammates to prepare and lead weekly deployments, ensuring smooth execution.

Issue Resolution and Reporting

- Accurately document, track, and report software defects, conducting root cause analysis as needed.

- Provide timely and detailed reports on QA activities, testing outcomes, and relevant quality metrics.

Requirements:

- Expertise in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automation testing (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).

- Demonstrated experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling and Autocannon.

- Proficient in JavaScript (TypeScript) or Java

- Familiar with frontend and backend technologies (e.g., ReactJS, ExpressJS, Gin-gonic), as well as cloud platforms (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).

- Knowledgeable in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, ArgoCD) and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

- Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, JWT for authentication, and search technologies like Elasticsearch.

- Exposure to additional testing tools and caching systems like Redis.

- Experience with logging and monitoring platforms such as Splunk or OpenSearch.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement robust testing strategies and drive continuous improvement in our development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies that cover all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Design, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.

Automation and Tooling:

• Lead the development of automated testing frameworks using Cypress/Playwright for end-to-end testing.
• Implement performance and load testing using tools like Gatling, K6, and Autocannon to ensure platform scalability.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct contract testing with Pact.js to validate interactions between microservices.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and new features are implemented.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Maintaining the E2E pipeline and promptly addressing any issues to prevent blocking or delays.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, providing QA insights and contributing to sprint planning.
• Collaborate with other QEs and team members to prepare the weekly deployment and lead the deployment activities.

Issue Resolution and Reporting:

• Identify, document, and track software defects using industry-standard tools.
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide regular reports on QA activities, test results, and quality metrics.

Mentorship and Leadership:

• Mentor junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with emerging QA technologies and methodologies, introducing relevant innovations to the team.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Proven experience with automation testing, particularly using Cypress for E2E testing.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like Gatling and Autocannon.
• Experience with contract testing frameworks such as Pact.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (TypeScript) and familiarity with Go.
• Solid understanding of frontend and backend technologies, including ReactJS, ExpressJS, and Gin-gonic.
• Experience with AWS services, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and caching solutions (Redis).
• Understanding of REST API, GraphQL API, JWT authentication, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools like Splunk or OpenSearch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide team members.

• Deploy, configure and integrate IT components and related border-control endpoints, including Hardware and Software.
• Part of integration team on site to troubleshoot, analyse and resolve issues through log analysis and hardware diagnostics.
• Perform integration testing on lab test benches & on-site.
• Communicate and interface with vendors and customers.
• Generate reports and write documentation, e.g. business data reports, operation manual, test procedures and test reports.
• May be required to perform integration and deployment tasks during maintenance hours (i.e. late night till early morning) if it involves changes to operational systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work in a fast paced & dynamic environment, handling complex deployment and integration tasks with professionalism.
• Conscious about service quality, with an appropriate sense of urgency in fulfilling customer requirements.
