Creative Arts and Design Technician

The Creative Arts and Design Technician supports teaching staff and students in the areas of Creative Arts, Design, Service, Sustainability, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) within the GESS BeyondClassrooms program. This role involves building positive partnerships that enhance teaching and learning, as well as assisting with activities and events. The Creative Arts and Design Technician is expected to be an active, motivated member of the GESS community, aligning their efforts with the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

General duties

· Organise materials and prepare resources for the, BeyondClassrooms programs, including but not limited to, service and sustainability, creative arts, design, innovation and STEM teams.

Design department

· Maintain machinery, power tools and other equipment and ensure they are in always in safe working order.

· Ensure extraction systems are regularly checked and cleared.

· Liaise with the First Aid team to ensure first aid boxes are stocked.

· Liaise with the facilities team for support on repairs, maintenance and installation support.

Creative Arts department

• Handle simple prescription interventions
• Manage drug inventory which includes stock replenishment, conducting stock counts and inventory checks
• Supervise and provide training to new Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants
• Assist Pharmacists in simple projects

• To repair and service of building Electricity, power points, cable installation
• Changing of building bulbs and lighting
• Service and clean of building airconditioning
• Incharge of handyman work within hotel rooms

Requirements:

• ITE with Electrical certificate and with 3 years of Building Electrical related working experience
• Candidate must be willing to work on 3 rotating shift
• Working location at Orchard area

Job Objectives:

1. Build AIX VIO server and client, Solaris Control Domain and guest LDOM

2. Operation support for Solaris (Primary), AIX and HP-UX

3. Work on Compliance and VA fixing for Solaris/AIX/HP-UX

4. Perform in place upgrade for Solaris and AIX

Key Responsibilities:

· Tech refresh old Solaris/AIX machine to new virtual machine

· AIX/Solaris OS patching and version upgrade

· Automate system admin tasks

· Server performance tuning

· IPKVM server console support. To track and drive tech refresh of DSview servers and KVM equipment

Key Requirements:

1. Experience in: 6 years’ experience on Oracle Solaris, Solaris Cluster, Solaris Virtualization, IBM VIOS, IBM AIX server, IBM GPFS Cluster, HP-UX, Unix scripts

2. Better to have: Chef, Bigfix Enterprise, Redhat Linux, Windows server
